Confession time…I still have A LOT of things to do in our house even though we’ve lived here for over a decade. Is it extra bad to admit that I have temporary paper shades in our LIVING room? (let’s not even get started talking about my commitment issues) 😉 Yep, it’s true. I have so many projects sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever finish them all. Some days I feel a tad bit overwhelmed and think I just need to move and start over…but then I feel guilty like I need to at least finish this place before I even think about moving. Part of my struggle…I like about 26 different design styles. lol! Are there any of you out there with the same struggle? Honestly, sometimes I look on pinterest and instagram and just feel completely confused, because when I see what I pin, it looks nothing like where I live. ha! So, I thought I’d try doing a few blog posts here to share my current loves, things that are NOT going to vibe with my current space, but things that I’m loving in this moment. Maybe that will get it out of my system and I can actually commit to something around here. 😉
I have a deep and abiding love for pink and navy in design (or anywhere!). I recently used it in a little girls room that I did, but have you seen it in more sophisticated spaces? It’s an amazing combination! I even tried it for a little bit in my living room…I just don’t quite think I did it right…here are some people who definitely got it right…

Not quite sure I could talk John into this for the Master, but I am LOVING this fun bohemian look by Emily Henderson

This fun and funky space is what I aspire to one day.
I was walking through Target recently and stopped dead in my tracks when I ran across their latest Threshold items. Seriously…they have been killing it lately. I love that Target makes it affordable for me to have design ADD. 😉 I can always count on them to have a few super trendy items that I can afford to mix in with my current decor and then swap them out when I tire of them. If you are looking to create a great pink and navy look in your home, here are a few of my favorites that will do a great job of getting you started…
Are you ready for the killer piece…THIS RUG! I about died when I saw this one. Are you brave enough to use it? Talk about a conversation piece! I love that it is so vintage looking. While it’s pricier than most Target items, it’s a steal when compared to actual vintage items that are similar. If you’re not quite brave enough to go that bold, here’s a nice option for you that’s a bit more traditional.
Top your rug with these amazing side tables (did I tell you Target was stepping it up or what?!) or maybe the matching bar cart, add a few accessories like this tray ( you know I love a good tray!) a ceramic ginger jar, my latest obsession, and maybe an architectural element like this faux blue coral and you’ll have a good start to your room. Oh yeah…you might want a lamp. 😉 This one would be perfect mixed in with all the other items…but if you’re feeling a bit fun and funky…this one would be super cute!
I hope you’re feeling inspired to try pink and navy in design in your home! 🙂
