Nordstrom Sale : The best of the Half-Yearly Sale

The people behind the Sale are seriously genius.  I can’t think of any other store where I get so excited for a sale to finally come around.  Between the Half-Yearly sale this month, Memorial Day Sales this weekend, and then the Anniversary sale coming up in July/Aug, it’s the most wonderful time of the year. 😉  I love that I can pick up all of the things I have had my eye on for 40% off.  I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites for me and the kiddos.

My summer wardrobe (when I’m not in my jammies! ;)) is always a great comfy and a.  If I were rich I would spoil myself with a new, crisp white t shirt every day.  Every now and then I’ll mix it up with a pop of color or something like those cute classic stripes. and it’s only $29!  It is always chilly around here in the evenings with the exception of a few really warm nights in August or September, so a cute cozy sweater is a must even during the summer.  This great camel colored one on sale for $46, is a classic that I can wear every season for many years to come.

With weekend road trips and day trips to the beach and pool on the horizon, here are some of my favorite picks for summer fun.  I have been watching this tote and I’m so glad it is part of the sale!  It’s only $33 now!! Woot, woot!  I will be sporting it on a little getaway this weekend and I can’t wait.  These earrings are such a fun color and the shape of them reminds me of the sun and that necklace for under $12 is a total steal!  I am getting to be a bit of a shade seeker the older I get, so I never go anywhere without a wide brimmed hat and a pair of sunnies.  Love the pop of pink on these.  Just because I’m hiding from the sun, doesn’t mean I want to look like I’ve been hiding from it, so I use this flash bronzer from Lancome on my legs.  I think it is super natural looking and it has the teeniest bit of a shimmer to it that I love.  I’ve been using it for years and highly recommend it.

A white dress always says summer to me and I love the pretty cut out detail in the hemline and neck of this dress.  Paired with some great wedges and you are ready for date night.  I love the silhouette on the black shirt dress, that is just a great staple,  and the pop of color on the shift is too perfect for summer!

shoes on sale…does it get any better?  I am loving these .  The little metallic strap is such a cute addition.  The tassel detail on the booties is super fun and the height of the heel is great for comfort.  I think they would be a great shoe to wear all summer and to help transition into fall.  These classic black ankle strap heel would look so cute with the black shirt dress and would go with just about every dress around.

Ok, enough shopping for me. 😉  I do love to stock up for the kids for summer too.  They practically live in swimsuits, so we definitely need a few of them.  Here are some darling ones:

That little seahorse suit with the ruffle…dying!!  Love the mix of patterns on the red white and blue suit and the other navy suit (both are under $30).  Andy loves his board shorts, and the hybrids are SO great!  Do your boys have some?  They look like regular shorts but are actually made of a material that is great for the pool, so they can throw them on with a t-shirt and then if they happen to find themselves heading to a friend’s to swim, they are ready to go.

More Cute Sale for Girls:

I like to use the sale and others during the summer as a chance to stock up on things I know we are going to need in the future.  With the kids it is so easy to buy things like sweatshirts and jeans that I know they are going to need in just a few months for school in a size bigger than they currently are wearing.  I pull them out of the closet come school time and they are usually just the right size.  There are some great staples on sale right now to pick up for a deal:
