Amara Interior Blog Awards and Polish Pottery

You guys!!  I have some news that I can’t even believe!  About three weeks ago I received a super exciting email.  Now, to give this story some context, I get spam emails ALL the time.  Do you guys? It seems like I am always winning some prize, being locked out of my bank accounts if I don’t “click here to login,” you know…all that kind of fun stuff. 😉  I also get a HUGE amount of emails from companies wanting to “work with me” from overseas, that just want to put links on my blog, have me publish their articles about things that are irrelevant to what I do…all kinds of fun stuff. 😉  So, needless to say, when I get an email telling me I’ve been nominated for something, I can be a little skeptical. 😉

This email was different though, and I couldn’t have been more excited to open it!  Pink Peppermint Design has been nominated for an Amara Interior Blog award and I am ecstatic!!  For the last three years Amara has hosted the Amara Interior Blog Awards.  Kind of like the Oscars…only for Interior Bloggers.  While the awards are primarily focused on blogs from the UK, they also have a specific category for THE BEST USA INTERIOR BLOG and Pink Peppermint Design was nominated!!!  You guys….I am SO thrilled!!!  I love this little blog of mine and I pour my heart and soul (and countless hours!) into it every week.  It is an honor to have you guys read it and an honor to be considered for this award.

If you’re not familiar with Amara, you might want to get acquainted. 😉 After living in Europe last summer, I became a tad obsessed with all things European.  I found so many cute shops and products during our time in London, France, Dublin, Italy, Prague and elsewhere, I began a quest before we left to find sources for all of these fun things that I didn’t think I could find back at home.  That was when I stumbled on Amara.  Amara is a globally recognized luxury home fashion retailer, stocking the best in home accessories and carefully curated interior must-haves.  The best part…they carry tons of my favorite European goodies that I thought I would be without here in CA, and they have dedicated country websites in the US, Australia, France, Germany, Canada, New Zealand, UAE & Ireland…which means you can get all this good stuff just about anywhere!  One of my favorites…this gorgeous Polish Pottery that I lugged all over the European continent with me in my ONE suitcase (yes, I may have abandoned clothes to make room for my souvenirs ;)) over the course of three months because I was so in love with it.  Now I can order it right from my couch.

Isn’t that pretty?!  There are tons of gorgeous patterns, all in my favorite hues of blue. At the little shop where I picked mine up in Prague, I watched them hand painting these patterns…it was incredible!

So, back to the Amara Interior Blog awards!  For the next month (until September 8th) the nominated blogs in each category are up for your vote.  If you love PPD and wouldn’t mind taking a minute to hop on over to the voting page and vote for us, I would LOVE it!  There are so many talented bloggers in every category, so I’m sure you’ll find some new blogs to love too.  The top 5 blogs in each category (based on your votes) will be handed over to the judges to decide the winner.  The award ceremony will be held in the Ham Yard Hotel which looks like a total dream space to visit.  If I am lucky enough to make it to the top 5, I may have to convince John that a trip to London is a must so that I can be there to be a part of the excitement and visit this gorgeous hotel.  A lengthy recap of the trip with lots of pretty pictures will be a must for the blog. 😉
