There are some birthday party themes that will never go out of style, and for little boys, a Batman party will always be a hit. I put this party together awhile ago for a kit I made for the Pink Peppermint Prints Etsy shop so I wanted to share it in case you are looking for Batman Party ideas…especially Batman party foods. I love to come up with silly party foods and themed party ideas. With superheroes it is extra fun because they have such great bright and fun color schemes to work with too.
BATMAN PARTY IDEAS AND TIPS
I always see so many cute party food tables and party food ideas on Pinterest that involve tons of jars of candy all over the table. Candy is a great idea for a DIY party food table, and candy is available in so many fun colors, you are able to match just about any party theme, but let’s be real…candy can get super expensive. So, let me share with you one of my favorite party tips when I am putting together party food ideas and a party table scape. Plan ahead. That is the best DIY party planning tip I can give you and here is why. Candy is available year round, but each season brings new and different candies that will almost always be on clearance at the end of the season or holiday. I put this Batman party together not long after Easter. Spring is a great time to buy jelly beans on clearance. Not only are Jelly beans fairly inexpensive…(especially when they are on clearance sometimes for less than 50 cents a bag), but they come in great colors and they are bulky, which means you don’t need as many of them to fill a jar. For this Batman party I wanted color blocked jars of black, white and yellow candy to fit the theme. I purchased several bags of clearance jelly beans and separated them out by color. The colors that I didn’t use went into my candy stash and you will most certainly see them later in another party table idea. If you think ahead, you can plan for your parties and save a fortune and create nicer displays than your budget may otherwise allow. Red and green bags of clearance Christmas M&Ms can be easily re-purposed for Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day parties, etc.
I love to create custom invitations for every even I host because I think that a good old fashioned paper invitation is the best. I still love to get snail mail, and it’s even more fun when it’s not a bill. 😉 . These 5×7 printable Batman Party invitations were easy to print out at home and cut out with my favorite paper cutter.
DIY BATMAN CUPCAKES
Another of my favorite party tips? Take the stress out of the party by allowing your local grocery store bakery to cook up some cupcakes for you! Since I wanted all the black and yellow Batman party supplies I could find, you know the cupcakes had to match our theme. These chocolate cupcakes with yellow frosting are perfect for the occasion. Reaching out to your grocery store bakery is a great way to get something that looks more custom, and doesn’t cost a fortune. And for a kids party…they don’t know the difference or care if it is a grocery store cupcake or a Sprinkles cupcake. They aren’t smart enough to know the difference yet. 😉 Just wait until they discover the cupcake ATM…oh boy! Another easy way to customize a purchased treat is to add a custom cupcake topper. These Batman party themed cupcake toppers were easy to print and cut out and immediately made the cupcakes look like custom Batman party food. I added the black and white cupcake wrappers like these over the plain white store wrapper too.
BLACK AND YELLOW BATMAN PARTY SUPPLIES
When you are planning your party, look through the grocery store for anything that fits your party’s color scheme. It doesn’t necessarily have to be theme related. For our Batman party foods I used yellow gatorade, black licorice, iced yellow mini cakes, Bananas, Pineapple and spring Oreo cookies that had yellow filling. You can do the same thing with plates and napkins, silverware, cups, streamer and balloons etc.
The items don’t have to be the pricey licensed merchandise to give you a Batman party feel. To make things even more custom and fun, you can add food labels that have Batman party foods with special themed names. For instance Gatorade becomes Joker Juice, Yellow Zingers become Zappin’ Zingers, and Bananas become Poison Ivy Produce.
DIY BATMAN PARTY FAVORS
To get more bang for your buck, use your Batman party favors to decorate your table…like these the yellow bubbles, Batman party buckets and batman containers you see in the above shots. When it comes time for the end of the party, give each of your guests their bucket and let them fill it with the items from the table. I found these buckets at Target in the $1 section. But, there are other options. These are very inexpensive and would be just as fun filled with treats..plus you can use it! By using your DIY Batman Party Favors to decorate the table, the table looks extra fun and more decorated, during the party, and you are getting two uses out of the items! 🙂
I hope these Batman party ideas are helpful, and that you are feeling inspired to host a Batman party of your very own! You can find lots of party printables, including several items from this Batman inspired collection in our Etsy shop here.
