I am SO excited to be sharing some of our Christmas home with you today! With Thanksgiving falling so much later this year, it has thrown me for a loop trying to hurry and get things ready for Christmas. I don’t know about you guys, but I need that extra week in between Thanksgiving and December! This year I decided to add a little Christmas cheer to our bedroom. I have been lagging getting our bedroom finished, so it has been super fun to dress it up and see the potential. Now if I can just get my act together in the new year maybe I’ll have some regular year-round bedroom decor too! 😉 I’m sharing today alongside some super talented blogging friends, so there is lots of inspiration to be had! Be sure to check out the links and images at the bottom of this post to see all the fun participants and check out their tours too!
I’ll be sharing our Christmas living room and some of the downstairs areas early next week, but I decided to go with black, green and gold this year as our color scheme. I am LOVING it. It’s a drastic change from last year’s blush and blue colors, which was one of my all time favorite looks, but I think it’s pretty awesome!
The green just makes everything look alive and I love that…even though it’s fake! lol! I love our everyday white duvet cover (although I probably should have steamed the wrinkles out of it…oh well! ;)) it goes with everything and makes it easy to throw in some new pillows and a few accessories and totally change the look of this room. I actually bought this green duvet cover (which I LOVED the color of), but it just wasn’t working with the rest of the elements, so I decided to stick with white…I’ll have to find another use for the green one this year.
We bought our bed right before we moved into this Utah house and I LOVE it. The height on it felt huge at first, but now I am just obsessed with it. I love that I can stack pillows all over the bed and you can still see the headboard. Because yes, I am a pillow hoarder. 😉
I found the black triangle pillows at HomeGoods, but these are very similar and so cute. We found one when we were searching for the Midway Modern Farmhouse, and I thought they were too cute, so I searched high and low at HomeGoods all over UT and CA to round up a couple of others for myself.
The green pillows and black striped pillow are new favorites. I have really been loving green lately, so I picked these up knowing I can use them both for Christmas decor and every day decor.
I added a few ornaments in coordinating colors to the antique dough bowl I have on the dresser. A wreath and a few pretty world market candlesticks and the dresser was all done.
I bought this artwork from HomeGoods several months ago with the intention of putting it in one of the guest rooms over the desk in there, but I decided to bring it in here to try it our and now I can’t decide where it should go! The desk may be moving, and if that’s the case, then it will make my decision easier. 😉
This rug is a fairly new purchase and it is SO incredibly soft. I could not believe it when we unrolled it. It hasn’t even shed either…which is unusual for wool rugs. I highly recommend it. The muted color works well with so much too.
HomeGoods has SO many cute throws right now, and this black and white plaid one is no exception.
