An exciting week at our house: J-14 Decorate Magazine Feature

I pretty much won the award for coolest mom on the block this week according to my tween daughter.  You see, my name appeared in the new J-14 Decorate Magazine, on a page next to the likes of Dove Cameron, Bailee Madison, and Sabrina Carpenter.  Needless to say, it was a pretty exciting day in our house. 😉  All kidding aside, I was very excited and honored to have a room I designed for one of my clients featured in the magazine.  It was an extra thrill because this particular magazine happens to be on the “best seller” rack at Barnes and Noble, and on the front of the magazine rack at Target and similar retailers.  For me, it was pretty fun to be able to walk into a store that I frequent (I mean, does anybody else spend at least 3 days a week at Target like I do? 😉 ), and see something I was featured in, front and center on the shelf.

Needless to say, Ashley is now determined for me to completely re-do her room and try with all my might to get her bedroom featured so that she can have a picture of herself in the same magazine as all of her favorite Disney stars. 😉 Uh-oh!  I’m in trouble now!  I do have some fun ideas for her room though, and it is time for a little makeover I’m afraid.  As much as I love the hand painted walls I did several years ago, she is quite a bit older now and probably ready for something a little more grown up.  I don’t know if it’s really the hand painted walls I’m having trouble getting over, or the the fact that she is growing up.  Probably the latter. 😉  I can’t believe my baby is a tween.

Abbi’s room was SO fun to put together.  I just love all the color!  That kelly green tufted headboard (the color in the magazine is a tad off…check it out here to see the beautiful grassy color) mixed with my favorite navy and a very vibrant and fun, girly pink is just such a fun combination.  And then there are those gold polka dots!  The best part?  You can remove them!  You can see the full reveal and all the images of this tween room here:  TWEEN BEDROOM REVEAL
