Fall Decor : 30 Beautiful Fall Room Decor Tours

It’s hard to believe that it is already time for another fall home tour.  Is it just me, or do these years seem to be flying by faster and faster?  Well, believe it or not, we’re here and I’m excited to welcome to our Fall Decor Home Tour!  I just love joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life in her wonderful home tours.  Fall is such a fun season and looking at all of the beautiful fall decor ideas and everyone’s tours each season gets me even more excited for the fun months ahead.  We have put a tremendous amount of love and work into this renovated home of ours and our goal has always been to create a place where our friends and family want to visit and stay. I love accessible design that is comfortable and practical (ok, maybe the white couch isn’t super practical…but it’s only because we never use that room that it survives. 😉 lol!  You can read more about it the whole process of our renovation here and see just how far we’ve come.  If you are new to my blog or joining me from Julia’s beautiful home tour over at Cuckoo4Design, welcome!  Isn’t her style amazing?  I absolutely love her beautiful home…so inspiring!  It’s such a pleasure to have you here.  I love to share design, travel, cooking and all kinds of fun DIYs.  You don’t want to miss any of the gorgeous fall room decor tours that will be happening this week.  At the end of the post, you find links to all 30 fall decor tours.

Our Fall Decor

Last year’s tour was the debut of our living room FINALLY decorated!  We’ve added a few more things over the last few months, and I have a list a mile long of things we still need to complete, but if you’re interested in seeing what this room used to look like before we got our hands on it, you can see it here.  We don’t spend much time at all in this room…which I know some people think that it is a waste of a room, but for me I really appreciate having a room right when you open the front door that is decorated and most importantly CLEAN.  If people opened the door and my family room was the first thing they saw, we would be in trouble. 😉

I’ve been trying to get base peices picked out for this room, some of which came with us from our house in Orange County, but most are new.  I went with light neutrals (couch, chairs, rug and tables) so that I can mix it up with different colors for each of the seasons. I bought this couch for the living room in an oatmeal colored linen so that I have a great neutral backdrop for adding in colorful pillows all year long. This fall I wanted to bring in some bold color, but also be able to mix in our everyday decor.  In our summer tour you can see I used lighter colors, but here I was able to replace the light blues with a rich navy velvet, and the add in deep pinks and golds to really make everything feel richer.

I love our outdoor chairs here in the living room.  I’ve mentioned them before, but man…it deserves repeating! The only real difference with outdoor furniture is durability, and there is certainly nothing wrong with having something even MORE durable inside…am I right? 😉 .  I’m sure those of you with pets or toddlers really know what I’m talking about!  We brought these with us from OC and I will not be parting with them anytime soon. There are so many great outdoor furniture pieces on sale right now since it is the end of the season.  Don’t be afraid to use them indoors as well.  I purchased ours at World Market several years go, but these are available and very similar.

The pillows in this room (well in any room) are a game changer.  Changing the pillows instantly changes the way an entire room looks and feels.  Pillows are definitely one of my favorite ways to mix things up in a room for different seasons.  They can fit in every budget, add color, texture and pattern to a space, and are easy to store when you are done with them.  Last year I added these gray and blue wool plaid pillows from my favorite Etsy pillow shop to the wicker chairs for fall, and these pretty leaf pillows (the colors look pretty intense online, in person they are much more muted) for the couch.  They are still available this year. Ever since I picked up these leather pillows they have been a staple in the living room. This fall, I re-used this plush velvet pillow,  which really pulled out the reds and pinks in other pieces of the fall decor, but most importantly I added these deep navy velvet pillows and this gorgeous gold pillow to the couch.  Those rich hues mixed in with the leather pillow and the existing pink bolster pillow from our summer couch, make a beautiful fall decor combination…don’t you think?

This antique looking table is one of my favorite new additions to this room and the perfect spot to set something pretty behind the couch. I lucked out and found the matching cubes at HomeGoods. The color on them is fantastic, and the texture is amazing.  I love the marble top on this little table that is the perfect place to set things in between the wicker chairs. The shape is super cute and I found in on sale for a total deal too.

This simple round mirror stays above the fireplace year round, it is another great staple that adapts to other changes in the room perfectly and looks good with just about anything.  The price point is great too.

I love to layer pretty pieces of art and just lean them here on the mantel.  This is one of my favorite purchases…I have used it all over the house.  I added a few pretty pink and gold pots (similar to these) from the fall decor at Hobby Lobby (one of my favorite spots to pick up cute little accessories around the room to pull in more deep pink.  I also found the fun burgundy and blue pumpkins in the fall decor section at Hobby Lobby.  I was a little early to get real pumpkins, so these great faux ones do the trick.

This year we added some drapes and these pretty rods.  I also finally picked up a bookshelf for the empty corner over by the piano.  I am enjoying switching up the decor there from time to time.  This cool clock is a recent purchase, along with this pretty colored frame
