Season’s Greetings with Handwritten Notes and Hallmark Signature

Disclosure:  This post was sponsored by Hallmark Signature through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select.  While I was compensated to write a post about Hallmark Signature, all opinions are my own.

These years are flying by.  I feel like we were just celebrating New Year’s Eve and now it’s almost time to ring in 2017.  Whenever this time of year rolls around, I tend to get a little sentimental as I reflect on the months that have passed and the memories that have been made.  The time passing is very apparent to me as I watch my kids very literally grow before my eyes.  This year marked the year that Andy passed me up.  He is now officially taller than I am.  Hard to believe.

When I was growing up, I was fortunate enough to live within 5 minutes of my entire extended family.  Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides.  It was so fun to go to grandma and grandpa’s house every Sunday for dinner, and just generally be together all the time.  I got to know my relatives SO well and form bonds with them that are still very strong and important in my life today.  I realize now that I have my own kids, just how spoiled I was.

Unfortunately for my kids, as our family has grown and my siblings have married and started their own families, we are now all spread across the country.  We love the chance to get together whenever schedules permit, but with busy lives and jobs and kids, those chances are few and far between.  We have tried diligently to keep relationships strong, and help the kids build relationships with their cousins who live far away.

It has been important to us to stay in touch via phone calls and video chat, but nothing can compare to the notes, drawings and cards they have sent through the mail to each other over the years.  They love running to the mailbox and finding an envelope with their name on the font, and I love having a keepsake of their cute conversations and handwriting through the years.  These relationships are one of a kind, and so the messages we send, particularly at special times of year like Christmas, need to be more than an ordinary greeting.

My little crafty lady Ashley could not pass up an opportunity to pick out a special Hallmark Signature card to send to her cousin who loves pink and glitter and shiny things almost as much as she does.  It was a tough choice when she saw the cute snowman card that includes a detachable ornament and the card that had real sprinkles on the cover.

Ultimately she settled on the card that had pink presents on the front because, let’s face it, when you’re a little girl, pink always wins.  Plus, I think she is secretly hoping that I might write a note to her on the snowman card so she can keep the ornament. 😉  Hallmark Signature cards are available right in the card aisle wherever Hallmark cards are sold, so be prepared to spend some extra time browsing the card aisle next time you go.  There are SO many cute ones!

This year, who made your life extraordinary?   A handwritten note means so much in this day and age of texts and email messages.   Hallmark Signature cards are one a kind for the people in your life who are anything but ordinary.  Send no ordinary card this holiday season.

Hallmark Signature cards are available in the card aisle wherever Hallmark cards are sold.

Have a great day!
