I don’t know about you, but I LOVE to cook. A well stocked kitchen is a high priority for me. All the gadgets and gizmos to make cooking easy and fun. When John and I were first married we loved going to the grocery store and picking out ingredients to make fun things at home for a date night. As we have gotten older and been busy raising a family and in the thick of his career, we have done a lot less of that. During Covid lock downs we fell back in love with spending time together as a family making yummy food. We spent many evenings trying to re-create our favorite foods from our favorite restaurants that we couldn’t visit at the time. It was wonderful time spent together and reignited my desire to cook more! If you have a talented home cook on your gift list…or someone that is interested in exploring their culinary talents, here is a great list of unique gifts for cooks. Some are my favorite kitchen tools and others are really neat gift ideas that are on my wishlist too!

Just like tools in a workshop, the right tools in the kitchen can make all the difference. I have bought the less expensive version of kitchen tools very often and learned the hard way that some things are definitely worth paying more for. They work better and last longer and end up more than paying for themselves in the long run. Some of these unique gifts for cooks are a splurge, but there are other gifts where you can definitely buy a less expensive version…take these colanders for instance. No need for anything fancy! These do that job just as well as the ones that cost twice as much.
A few things I have splurged on that I will never buy cheap again…a blender. No question. A good blender is a life changer. This is the Vitamix I love.
Good pots and pans. They will heat your food much more evenly and withstand higher temps and last you forever.
A good Kitchen Aid mixer. Whipping cream, making bread, mixing up cookies, shredding chicken…so many uses and these things are workhorses. You can pass them down to your kids! My great grandma gave me hers! I love this blue color, but they come in a bunch of fun colors. If you have someone that loves to bake…and does so often, you might want to consider the professional size mixer instead. We have both and the capacity of the professional size is great for slightly bigger batches of rolls, cupcakes, frosting, etc.
Steak Knives. I LOVE my stainless Henckels knives. John and I bought our first set of 4 knives 20+ years ago at the Williams-Sonoma outlet on the CA/NV state line. Game changer! They have been through the dishwasher hundreds of times over the last 20 years and we have added more to the set because we use them everyday and love them so much.
These measuring cups and measuring spoons are my favorite. They are reasonably priced and heavy duty, and great for a stocking stufer!
These pizza ovens are ALL the rage. Definitely a splurge, but for the home cook that has everything, they give you the ability to make restaurant quality, wood fired neapolitan style pizza at home. Amazing.
Another splurge…this countertop pellet ice maker. A perfect gift for the ice snob. lol! Yes, I may be known to buy bags of ice from Sonic! 😉
This glass bowl set is one of my favorite, but no need to spend a fortune on one. This set is perfect. Pretty kitchen storage is another area where you can find beautiful things at practical prices. I love these glass containers with bamboo lids.
You can get more information about and shop these products by clicking the images here. I’ve added a few other things here too that you might want to consider…air fryers, pretty dishes (these are from Walmart), an immersion blender (I can’t live without mine) etc.
