Week in Review

I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week! I was talking to my Aunt a few days ago and she starts school TODAY!! What? It’s still JULY!! I cannot believe that the summer weeks are already dwindling and that back to school is upon us already! Whether you start this week or are able to eek out a few more weeks of fun, I hope you are looking forward to a great week this week! We are trying to pack as much fun into our days as possible before schedules and homework take over our lives again. Long live summer!!

We kicked off the week with a trip to the Spectrum to walk around, grab some lunch and see a movie. It has been so hot and humid here lately! I quickly found myself hiding out in Target while everyone else walked around outside. I may have found myself a couple of cute things while I was there. 😉 I cannot get enough of these ottomans! I use them ALL over the house. I picked up this new plaid color way for Andy’s room. They are seriously the hardest working pieces of furniture in the house. Side tables, end of the bed, extra seating, under the console etc. SO great!

I’ve been wanting this darling piece of art…but I hesitated ordering it because I wanted to see it in person first. I lucked out and they had one in stock. It is even cuter in person. It’s little and I love that! It is so hard to find little art pieces that are perfect for layering. It looks WAY more expensive than the $12 it cost me!

They recently opened a Shake Shack at the Spectrum. It’s SO nice to finally have one close to home!

The special OC Dream 50/50 shake is pretty amazing!

We kicked off Tuesday celebrating one of our favorites on her special day with a #PolarStrides walk. Even more people joined us than usual and made it extra special!

We tried a new place in town for lunch. Sessions West Coast Deli. It is SO yummy. So glad to finally have one of these close to home too!

Ash ran her first annual Tiny Bird Bakeshop kid’s summer baking camp this week and it was SO cute!! The kids had a blast and so did she! She loved watching them all create cute treats and teaching them some fun baking tips. She can’t wait to do it again!

Who else saw Barbie this weekend? Apparently a lot of people did because it was #1 at the box office! Ash was definitely one of them on opening day! She had to get all pink for the occasion. She was made for this! 😉

Andy came into town this weekend and we spent the evening at the ballpark. I love Angels baseball…no matter what their season looks like. Baseball and long, warm nights just feel like summer to me! It was fun to watch Shohei Ohtani in what  might have been his last game pitching as a Angel. We hope not, but I think it might be true.

Everyone was excited to get a free belt bag at the game! We love a good giveaway! This picture is one of my new favorites. 😉

Ash was busy baking away for a custom order on Saturday, so John, Andy and I went to see the new Mission Impossible movie. Wow. It was incredible!! I highly recommend it it you haven’t seen it yet. I can’t believe I have to wait another year to see the second part!!! It’s going to be a long wait!

Andy’s mission president and his wife came home recently and they spoke in church yesterday so we headed down to San Diego to listen and for John and I to meet them. It was a great meeting and it was nice for Andy to see them and some 50 or so other missionaries that made the trip from all over the country to be there. It was a special day for sure. Afterwards John and I drove through all of our old stomping grounds in San Diego. I know I spent the first 20+ years of my life there, but it sure feels like a lifetime ago. I feel like I barely recognize the place when I go back these days. It was fun to drive all the way back up the coast on PCH and re-live some memories.

When we weren’t out doing things, we spent time here. I love this spot and just sitting, relaxing and spending time chatting and relaxing with my family. Love them and the time we get together so much.

Off to start another busy week! Make it a great one! 🙂
