I might need to start calling these bi-weekly reviews. 😉 Silly me thinking that once I officially became an empty nester a few weeks ago life might slow down a bit. HA! Joke was on me! Exciting things are happening and I can’t wait to fill you in!
I had the chance to visit the Las Vegas Market with two of my favorite people and check out all of the latest trends in home furnishings and decor heading our way this year. It’s always so inspiring to be around so many pretty up and coming products and creatives and get a sneak peek at the pretty things.
Las Vegas Market
I LOVED the Loloi booth. SO pretty with all the rugs hung as art.
Lighting design is always so fun to see too…it’s like walking into a jewelry store.
The market is held twice a year at the World Market Center not far off the strip in Vegas…in the true “downtown” area of the city. It is a complex of three high rise buildings 8-10 stories that each house tons of show rooms on each floor. It can literally take days to work your way through everything. This was a quick trip…like less than 48 hours, so we were hustling and working our way through as much as we could see in that time.
Each of the show rooms is like a massive furniture store.
So many pretty things. Furniture, ruge, art, accessories, glassware, towels, pots, drapes, you name it. All kinds of eye candy.
These companies show up 2 weeks in advance to turn their “booths” into these amazing places to display their wares. It’s pretty incredible.
It was fun to be in the city just a few days before the Super Bowl and get to see everything all dressed up for the party.
We had a chance to sneak away for a fun dinner on Monday night and I finally made it to Din Tai Fung. It’s been all the rage in OC/LA for a few years and I haven’t had made time to go. There’s one in Vegas at the Aria so we decided to check it out. If you get the chance to go, GET THE GREEN BEANS!!!! Life changing. I could make a meal just out of those!
New to the Crew
I flew back quickly to help Andy with a very important project…
Yep, you may have guessed…or if you follow Ash (tinybirdbakeshop ) she already spilled the beans, so you may have seen it, but we are adding to the family. Yep, I couldn’t stand being an empty nester, so she’s getting a sister. HA! 😉 Andy is getting MARRIED!!!!
We are so excited for his cute fiance to join the family. It’s time to plan a wedding!! The best part of being close to the kids while they are in school is getting to share in fun moments with them as adults. Helping him set up for the proposal, and then getting to go dress shopping with Victoria have been highlights so far with many more to come I’m sure! I look really tired in this shot next to those bright young faces, but it’s the only one, so here you go! 😉
We hit a couple of fun Bridal shops and found some gorgeous dresses. She hasn’t said yes to the dress just yet, but I think we’re close! 😉
Date Night
John and I hit up the new Fox Market by The Fox Group that just opened this past week on Friday night. It’s a cute shop with lots of knick knacks, treats and home decor. Definitely a nice addition to Salt Lake!
Getting Published
We also canvased the city looking for the Super Bowl edition of Woman’s World Magazine. I was published in this edition, but man has it been hard to find a copy! Mama Kelce on the cover has definitely made it a hot commodity. Fortunately, we were able to locate a couple of copies.
It is always a thrill to be published, and I like to try and keep a copy or two of each magazine whenever it happens so that I have proof. lol! 😉
I don’t usually get my picture in the mag, so that was a fun surprise to see too!
Vitamin D
We hopped on a plane this weekend to spend some time soaking up some much needed Vitamin D. I know it was raining here all last week with torrential downpours, but Mother Nature was sure putting on a show for us yesterday. It is SO gorgeous!!!
Super Bowl Fun
I tried my hand at some royal icing/decorated sugar cookies yesterday for the Super Bowl. They took me forever…and I learned a thing or two…like don’t start this project at 9pm because it takes awhile…but I think they turned out cute!
It was fun to be home and be able to watch with some friends that we have a long standing tradition of watching the Super Bowl with…and what a game! It was pretty slow, but that ending! WOW!
I hope you all had a great week. I’m looking forward to catching up with friends this week, catching up on blogging!, eating as much Mexican food as I can (always a must when in OC), walking in the sunshine as much as possible, and a nice Valentine’s Day with my cute hubby. This empty nesting thing might not be so bad after all. 😉
Have a great week!
Tammy

Congratulations on Andy’s engagement!!! What a fun life! You guys are amazing!
Thanks Karen! John is doing a good job trying to keep me busy so I don’t get too sad being an empty nester! 😉
