Happy Monday! Is today a holiday at your house? The kids are off of school, but I know that a lot of work places don’t have the day off. If you do have a holiday…what are you doing? I’m using today to catch up on chores around the house. There is so much organizing and laundry and deep cleaning to do. I need a week instead of just a day! lol!

John and I spent the last week in OC. I have learned living in a snowy place that it’s important to get some sunshine and have a warm place to sneak away to for a few days for my sanity! Fortunately for us, it was a beautiful week in between rain storms.

I walked and walked and walked…and loved every minute of it. Starting each day in the sunshine and being with friends fills my cup.

I feel so good when I have a little bit of a watch tan in Feb. 😉

John treated to me to some @poseypop flowers for Valentine’s day which was definitely a highlight!! He knows that she makes my FAVORITE arrangements on the planet, so it is always a treat to get one.

We had a fun afternoon and evening driving up PCH. We love to drive and drive, listen to good music, see pretty things and stop into fun places for yummy food.

We popped into Prime Pizza in El Segundo for some dinner. We’re not big on going out to dinner on Valentine’s Day at a sit down restaurant. We have had one too many experiences where the service is rushed, the tables are crammed together to get extra people in the restaurant and the food is mediocre and overpriced at best. We’d much rather go on a night that isn’t the busiest restaurant night of the year and instead enjoy a fun day of just spending time together and grabbing some good cheap eats. This NY style pizza was yummy. The place was slammed too. It was fun to sit and eat and people watch as the line of people coming to pick up pies grew longer and longer. They’ve got these in several spots in LA, so give it a try if you get a chance.

I guess you could say pizza was the theme of the week (along with our favorite Mexican food per usual). We drove up the coast on Friday night to Long Beach to grab our favorite pizza from Naples. L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele just opened a location in Long Beach and we are so excited!! We previously were only been able to visit in London, then they opened one in West Hollywood awhile back. We would make the long often 2 hour drive in traffic to get there, but now we have one so close! Yay! It was delicious as always.

Meanwhile, Ash was busy making a little pizza of her own while on a crazy photo scavenger hunt group date that her and her roommates planned. It was worth 500 points if they could get a local pizza shop to let them make their own pizza. Leave it to her to talk her way in. 😉

My brother and his cute fam moved to So Cal about 3.5 year ago. We were SO excited to have them closer…even though we were sad that their time in CA didn’t line up with ours more since we had moved to Utah a couple of years before. We felt lucky though, having them a lot closer and knowing that we would be back and forth to CA often. Sadly, they are now packing up and on their way to be East Coasters. We had to squeeze in one more visit while we were in town and could drive to their house before they head out in a week or so and it becomes a lot more difficult to get together. I love this sweet family and those cute nieces and nephews of mine and I’m feeling pretty sad about missing out on their lives more with them so far away. I guess I’ll just have to be planning more trips back east!

I had to snap this picture on the way home yesterday. John LOVES to have a window seat on an airplane. He’ll spend the whole flight watching out the window and marveling over the landscape. I love how he is always so inquisitive and loves to be watching the world go by. He has always loved maps and travel and reading everything he can get his hands on. I’m lucky he’s mine. <3

OK, a little bit of a sappy post today, but I sure love my people. 🙂

I hope you have a wonderful week!
