Week in Review

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Things here were good…it was WARM…at least by usual February standards. What  is it about the weather turning warm and the days getting longer that makes me have the desire to be more productive? Do you feel that way too? Here’s a little of what we were up to this week.

Around the House : Projects & Updates

This week was a bit of a project week at the Alumni House. Construction got to about 95% completion before the holidays and then has pretty much been at a stand still since. We’ve just been so busy bouncing from place to place with work meetings, getting Ash set up and going in school, wedding planning…it’s been a bit nuts so all of the little projects have kind of been put off.

Some of the work left to complete includes things like replacing the back door…but with snowy, rainy, wintry weather, we’ve had to put that on hold. Lots of odds and ends like door knobs and closet rods and all kinds of little things need to be done, so we finally got around to tackling a few of those things which felt SO good!!

These are the doorknobs that I ordered for the upstairs doors. I wanted something that would be a little nod to the age of the house…almost 100 years! They are SO pretty! I’ll try to remember to take a picture of them installed! 😉

Life & Family: This Week’s Happenings

It was rainy and cold for much of the week. It’s hard to take the boys out when it’s so yucky out, so it was time for a field trip to their favorite place…Home Depot.

They love wandering the aisles and sniffing everything of course! And they get so much attention from the people that work there, it is definitely a fun outing for them.

Cold and wet weather in this house = baking days! I brought home some beautiful lemons from our small tree in Orange County last week and wanted to make something fun with them, so I whipped up some favorite lemon blueberry muffins. SO good! I’ll be sharing the recipe here soon!

This guy is so funny. We have learned in our travels to Europe, that people there take McDonald’s very seriously. They dress up and hit their local MickeyD’s for date nights…for real!!! It’s always such a strange/funny thing for us to see. John always jokes that we are going to have a McDonald’s date night…and so this week we did. 😉 Love this funny guy and his fun ideas. 

She said yes to the dress!! We are in full wedding prep mode around here. Only 63 more days to go! This cute girl decided on a dress and we are all set to get it altered and ready for the big day!

We spent some time on Sunday afternoon at Sundance and in Park City taking engagement pictures for this cute couple. It’s been awhile since I pulled out the big camera…which is weird for me…so it felt good to take some real pictures. They turned out SO cute if I do say so myself. 😉 I can’t wait to share more here, but I better let these guys see them first. lol! 😉

Up & Coming 

I’m busy working on some fun posts this week. Lots to share, including our new chairs that I just got word are arriving tomorrow! Woohoo! I can’t wait to see them in the living room! There are lots of great sales and deals this week to look forward to and some awesome new arrivals at TJ Maxx. I always hesitate to share these in weekend wishlists because they sell out so quickly, so maybe I’ll just start sharing them here each week. It is one of my favorite spots to find unique home decor for a steal, so here are a few of my favorites available this week…

I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s time to start thinking about getting the backyard ready for summer fun! This awesome table and chair set is SO cute and a hot deal this week.
