Week in Review

Another week come and gone! I tell you, writing these weekly recap posts seems to make time fly even more! This time of year always flies by, but the older I get, the faster time seems to go…which makes these weeks even more precious! What happened in your lives this week? I feel like things were pretty normal around here. School, work and more work with a little fun mixed in.

morning walks

I look forward to starting each morning, especially Monday’s with a walk. Now that it’s fall It’s fun to see the leaves on the ground and hear their crunch under my feet, and to feel the slightly cooler temps. It heated back up this weekend…but it was nice to have a few breezy days in the 60’s at the start of the week.

Missionary Monday’s are always the best way to start the week! This cute missionary of mine has been out for 14 months already, I can hardly believe it. While we miss him SO much, these weekly FT chats are life saving!! I love these pictures…grainy as they may be, that pop up every once in awhile on social media. It’s always an unexpected treat to see my cute boy! 🙂

A few new things arrived this week. I’m gearing up for holiday shoots and some travel later in the year and I’m trying to get on top of my holiday shopping. I will admit I’m worried about the supply chain issues…what are your thoughts and experiences with what you see in your local stores?

Here are a few of the things that have been delivered this week:

Mayfair San Juan Capistrano

Wednesday night John and I sneaked in a mid-week date night. That rarely happens..so it was extra fun. We went to cute San Juan Capistrano for dinner and a movie. I just love what they have done with the whole area around the Mission. It is so festive! Poor John had been waiting for 5 years for the new James Bond movie to come out and he was SO excited to see it. We have both loved Daniel Craig as Bond and were eagerly anticipating his final movie in the role. We were SO disappointed. Neither of us liked it. Have you seen it? What did you think? I don’t think John is over it yet. lol!

I got to visit one of my favorite local shops with a dear friend for a quick outing on Thursday. It is always so fun to wander around Homeology and see all the cute things they have in store. It’s the perfect spot for pretty decor pieces and fun gifts.

In other exciting news…a Chick fil A opened on Thursday in our neighborhood and we could not be more excited!!!  Now my favorite Market Salad is only minutes away. We went opening night for dinner and waited until it was quite late thinking the line might have died down by then….silly us. We should have known better. 😉

chick fil a grand opening

Friday we went with friends to Korean BBQ. Have you been before? It’s kind of a similar idea to fondue. It’s all you can eat and you order off of the menu and cook the meat yourself as it comes out. It’s fun for a date night since it’s a little more active and entertaining. We had a great time chatting and filling up with yummy food.

San Clemente Pier

Saturday was INSANELY gorgeous. It was so clear you could see Catalina better than I have ever seen it before. Of course we had to head for the beach and take advantage of such a perfect October day. Football, food and friends rounded out the afternoon and evening. It was relaxing and so fun…even though our Cougars lost. 😉

I’m excited for what this week has in store. I’m working on a few projects, including playing travel agent for a big work trip coming up in December and a family trip too. It will be so fun and I can’t wait to share, but right now I’m in research and development mode trying to get every detail of the itinerary perfect. It is super time consuming, but all the planning will be worth it in the end…plus it’s fun! 🙂

Some cookies are in the oven right now…I’m trying out a new recipe, so I’ll be sure to let you know how things turn out! 🙂

Have a great week!
