Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to a great week ahead…especially with Halloween on Wednesday! Woohoo!

We had a fun and busy weekend full of family time…my favorite thing!  Saturday morning our ! Yay!  I like the way the painted chairs look with the .  Now I just need to find two end chairs.  Do you have any favorites you think would look great in this space?  Let me know about them in the comments! 🙂 I’m on the hunt!

I had a few things I picked up online Saturday morning as well.  I bought for the living room and these bells that I couldn’t get last year.  I waited to long to get last year and they were all sold out…both the tree AND the bells!  These bells are almost identical to another set at RH that is super expensive…and these are under $25!  Score!!  Then, we hopped in the car for a trip down to our old college town because there is the most darling shop there called Brambles and Blossoms that I have been wanting to visit.

It is one of my favorite spots that I have found here in UT.  I have a serious weakness for chippy antiques, and funny enough…it is hard to find them here, even though there are so many places here that look like they would be filled with antiques! lol!  I was chatting with the owner Lisa, and she said she has to import most things from CA. Too funny!  The shop was gearing up for their holiday open house next weekend, and it made me so excited starting to see all of the fun Christmas decor!

How cute is that place?  Definitely worth a trip if you are ever in Provo!

Whenever we are by BYU we have to stop at the Creamery for a shake. BYU makes their own ice cream and their creamery is famous for some of the best ice cream I have ever had, and huge portions at student prices.

Earnestly chocolate is a favorite for shakes.  SO good!!!

Ash is so funny.  Can I tell you how fun it is having a girl?  She came into my room on Saturday morning sporting the exact same , black long sleeved shirt, and as me.  She even borrowed some of my favorite earrings because she said she wanted to be twins with me.  I normally don’t let her wear anything but little stud earrings, so maybe it was just an evil plan to get to wear giant hoops for a day, 😉 but it was so cute and there is no one I would rather be twins with than her! 😉 She’s way cuter than her old mom, but I’ll take her wanting to be like me as long as I can! 🙂

The fall colors have been pretty spectacular this last couple of weeks.  Our neighborhood looks like a box of crayons exploded.  It’s kind of awesome.

John and I decided to take a drive up the canyon before it gets too snowy.  There’s a pass over the mountain to Park City that we love to drive through and it closes for the season on Thursday, so we thought we better do it one last time.  We stopped for a hike around the lake too…and there was lots of snow in the shady spots! eek!

We saw the most beautiful deer along the drive.  I made John pull over constantly so I could try and get a picture.  Fortunately he is used to having a blogger for a wife at this point and is happy to oblige. 😉 This one even had a tiny set of antlers.  SO cute!
