With all this craziness in the world right now it has been a few weeks since I’ve blogged. Yesterday getting a post up with Easter ideas, and now today, being able to participate in Marty’s fun spring home tour has sure felt good! It’s brought some much needed normalcy into my life that feels like it has been missing for a bit. I could not be more excited to welcome you here to the blog and celebrate the coming of spring with some beautiful living room ideas and decor from some of my favorite blogging friends. Hopefully you will find these ideas to be inspiring and refreshing like I have! The best part of all this chaos is the gift of staying home and being with family. It also gives us a chance to freshen up our homes and get some of those items checked off of the to-do list. 😉 If you are joining me from April’s gorgeous blog over at House by Hoff, hello! I am so glad you are here. 🙂 I hope that you enjoy taking a peek at our spring living room.
There is nothing better after a long winter than the first signs of warmer days and melting snow! It makes me want to throw open the window and let the fresh air in…then I remember it’s still 38 degrees out…so that will have to wait. 🙂 But it sure helps to lighten and brighten the inside of the house with fresh pillows and a few new accessories! This year I wanted to bring in blues (always!) yellow and green. Such a fresh feeling combo. I used my favorite leather pillow in the mix too.
Spending the last little while in Utah has made me appreciate faux plants so much more! I used to have all kinds of fresh greenery available outside my front door every day, year round in Orange County, so it took me a while to get used to it and find some that I loved, and now they might just be my latest favorite accessory…because I can’t kill them! lol! This olive tree is my most recent purchase that I am obsessed with. It comes in a 4′ and 6′ version. I am ordering a few more for other spots around the house too.
I use books everywhere, and I really try to find not only books that are pretty to decorate with, but books that have some personal meaning to us as a family. This Pretty City London book is so much fun to flip through…especially since it’s one of our favorite cities on the planet!
I love these beachy/boho prints on the pillows that I picked up. I felt ok about going with a very light colored sofa in here because this is more of a sitting room. The leather couch in the family room takes most of the wear and tear.
A few more nods to home in OC. 😉
This coffee table is still one of my favorite purchases for this house thus far. I wanted it for years and had it pinned over and over again and finally had a room I could put it in! 😉 I’m still not tired of looking at those cute legs! I love working with beachy textures like seagrass in our home. We miss our OC home and the beach terribly when we are here in UT.
I spotted this pretty arrangement of greenery at HomeGoods and grabbed it. I wasn’t sure where it would go, but I knew I had to have it…so glad it worked well here!
Every home tour I feel like we get a little bit further along in here. There’s still a lot to do, but we’re getting there! Be sure to check out the before of this space to see just how different it looks from when we started 3 years ago!
