It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The time when lots of bright orange packages arrive at my door!
I’m always behind the camera and rarely in front of one, so this year it was an extra special surprise to get the four of us together in one frame. This summer on our odessy to Europe, we had the chance to travel for a time with my good friend and amazing photographer Shannon Ashton. What a treat! Though we were looking a little weary, the kids had outgrown clothes and were in desperate need of haircuts at the end of our three months when these pictures were taken, they will forever be a treasure to me, this special moment captured in time. So, needless to say, I couldn’t wait to turn these images into gorgeous Shutterfly Cards this year.
As usual, I have a little of a commitment problem when there are too many cute things to choose from. That is one of my favorite things about designing cards through Shutterfly. I don’t have to settle on just one design…so I didn’t. 😉 I chose a few of my favorite designs and adjusted my pictures to fit accordingly.
I am always a sucker for the gold foil and pearlized paper, I felt like, especially with these warm colorful images, it does such a good job of invoking the warmth of the Tuscan sun. I opted for the Delightfully Stated and Spectacular Season cards. Do you love those lined envelopes? There are so many cute options for customizing your cards…the backs, the envelope color, the envelope inserts…tons of fun!
Gray is totally the hot color right now, so of course I had to play with the gorgeous silver foil too. I simply changed my same image to black and white so that I could work with colors outside of my navy and coral color combo from the picture.
For extra fun I added silver envelopes to go with the silver foil on the cards. The pretty liners looked like confetti and mix silver and gold. I wanted to get a few of these pretty Shimmering Script Happy Holiday themed cards so that we can send them to our friends and neighbors that celebrate holidays other than Christmas.
I used those same black and white images to add in pops of red in the same Shimmering Script card and the Gorgeous Bracket Christmas Card. Using the red foil enabled me to order the navy blue and red plaid and green and red plaid envelope liners I was drooling over. You know how I feel about plaid… 😉
One last image I was dying to use was this adorable shot of the kids. I love the way they are looking at each other and to me, the font on this card is playful and bright like their sweet little faces.
While I was ordering cards, I decided that I needed to pick up a few Christmas presents as well. Mom, if you’re reading this, stop now. 😉 Have you seen the glass prints that Shutterfly has? I LOVE them. Your photo is printed on the glass, so the light shines from behind it and makes it glisten and the colors pop. They have beveled edges and look beautiful. Think of it like the images on your computer…they look so pretty because they are back-lit…you get that same effect with these prints.
One more secret gift for mom (and maybe a little something for me ;)) these awesome personalized phone covers…
Now grandma can show off her cute grand kids everywhere she goes, and I can always remember one of my favorite spots in Las Vegas. 😉 There are tons of great premade cover options to personalize with just a name or add a picture to an existing design, or you can totally personalize your cover here.
Now how’s that for easy Christmas shopping? Christmas cards and all your gifts for friends and family in one spot, delivered to your door.
Be sure to check out all of the great options Shutterfly has to offer this holiday season and don’t forget to use a great coupon code. Right now (until November 18th) you can find all cards up to 50% off just use code FRIENDS at checkout.
Have a great day!
