I can’t believe it is Friday already!! These weeks just keep flying by and I feel the holidays coming on strong. Do you ever feel like you have so much to do you just start to feel paralyzed…like you can’t get anything done? I feel like I am running around doing a whole lotta nothing these days! lol!
We have had a super fun visit from my aunt this week. We are close in age and have kids the same age, so we have always been very close. I remember just thinking she is the absolute coolest person ever when I was growing up. I tried to copy everything she did…right down to her handwriting. She always took me on fun ice cream dates and wrote me letters when she was in college. She made me the best 80’s mix tapes (WHAM and Billy Joel were some favorites on those tapes) and has just always been all around fun and super thoughtful my whole life. It’s been a real treat to have her here.
This week I’ve been prepping for some Halloween blog fun next week. With Halloween only a couple of weeks away, I am trying to get in all the Halloween fun I can. The living room is decorated…did you see it? This week I’ve been concentrating on the entryway and front porch. I may have brought a few more of these pumpkins home than I initially intended. Aren’t they gorgeous?! Thank heavens for Trader Joes! Hopefully I can get the family room decorated this weekend too. On Monday I’ll be sharing a Halloween holiday home tour with 6 other awesome bloggers, so be sure not to miss it. 🙂
Along with getting things ready for Halloween, I am also looking ahead to Thanksgiving, which means getting the dining room ready. Our dining table and all kinds of pretty fall stuff is on sale as part of the Dining and Entertaining Event at Pottery Barn this week with prices 30-70% off. Whoa!
Ash is starting to get a bit worried about me getting her Halloween costume together. She likes to dress up with her friends and do a theme. This year they have decided on being In-n-Out girls. I think the idea that she might be able to get a giant safety pin sealed the deal. Girls are so funny. But I have to agree with her, those safety pins are pretty cute! 😉 Fortunately, it’s an easy costume to put together. She also needs to dress up like a 50’s girl for a school carnival, so we are getting this cute poodle skirt. She also has a witch party and is supposed to dress up like a witch, so I have to figure something out for that. We may be going with this adorable number. With Halloween being as cold as it is here, I’m thinking she needs something snuggly and cute like this costume.
We’re still trying to decide on a costume for Jack, there are so many hilarious costumes it’s hard to decide! I think Andy might be giving up on dressing up this year. Although, his favorite costume always seems to mysteriously re-appear this time of year. He loves to wear it to all the trunk or treats and church parties because all the little kids flock to him…and he LOVES little kids!
We are going out with some great friends that we know from OC that live in UT now this weekend so I’m looking forward to that. We’ll try a new restaurant that I’ve heard a ton about, so I’ll be sure to let you know if it’s a winner! 🙂
It’s supposed to be sunny but chilly this weekend, so I’ll continue living in my favorite cardigan and hope for warmer weather to come…I’m afraid at this point I’ll be waiting for months for that to happen now. So I think I’ll just make myself feel better by shopping for cute sweaters at Loft this weekend because they are all 30% off. ;0 It will be a great time to snuggle up, get some online shopping done and watch some college football.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
What do you have planned?
