Welcome to our Christmas living room! I was so excited when Marty from A Stroll Thru Life asked if I was interested in participating in her Christmas tour again this year. I just love being a part of her tours! If you are new to my blog or joining me from Life on Virginia Street, welcome! I absolutely love Sarah! We share a very similar sense of style too, so it’s always extra fun for me to see what she’s up to because I am guaranteed to love it! 😉 It’s a pleasure to have you here. I always hope to create a pretty place, but also a place where people feel comfortable kicking their feet up on the coffee table and staying for awhile. At the end of the post, you’ll find links to the other 30 Christmas home tours that will be happening this week…there are SO many beautiful Christmas living room decor ideas, and you definitely don’t want to miss any of them! Affiliate links are included in this post.
A few weeks ago I shared my design plan for the Christmas living room decor ideas and it is always SO fun to see a design board come to life. We are still getting settled into this home, last Christmas was a little bit make-shift, and this year we have a little bit more to work with. It is fun to have the decor evolve a little more this year. I recently hung a painting in the dining room (which is open to the living room) that is navy and a blushy pink, so I let that dictate the color scheme this year and I am so glad I did! 🙂
There is still so much left in this room to complete, but seeing it all decked out for Christmas is pretty fun for me, especially considering the state it was in just last year! I renovated this house using almost all neutrals…with the exception of a navy island and a few other navy cabinets throughout the house…although I do consider navy to be a neutral because it goes with everything! 🙂 I wanted to be able to mix in all kinds of color through pillows and other accessories over the years and as the seasons change, so having very neutral floors and walls is easy to work around. I found this gorgeous rug at HomeGoods. The color scheme and pattern are so pretty and very easy to work with.
I knew I wanted a flocked tree in this room this year, so I was excited to find this one on sale. It is a slim tree, which is perfect for this room and where I wanted to place it. Yes, it is a mess to set up, but nothing that a vacuum can’t fix in a few minutes and I just love the way it looks! This one is considered lightly flocked, so you can still see a fair amount of the green on the tree, which I like…although it’s hard to tell from these pictures.
I can’t stop using eucalyptus. It is on all the trees that surround our home in Orange County and I miss it! I think it mixes in with the cypress so nicely and look beautiful. The smell is always amazing too…and it dries beautifully. These bells, a few ornaments I bought at a favorite boutique in OC and some artwork complete the easy Christmas mantel decor.
When I buy art, I always try to find pieces that mean something to us. This watercolor picture reminds us of a vacation we took a few years ago and the location has significant meaning to our family. This simple round mirror stays above the fireplace year round, it is another great staple that adapts to other changes in the room perfectly and looks good with just about anything. The price point is great too.
To decorate the tree I stuck to classic glass ball ornaments. I used an assortment of mercury glass, pink, slate blue, and gold. A few navy magnolia picks from some work I did with Balsam Hill last Christmas and some blush ribbon and I was all set!
The pillows on the sofa were really what made me think I could pull off this color scheme for Christmas. I have been looking EVERYWHERE for the perfect pink/navy pillow combo. In October or early November this navy and pink plaid pillow was introduced along with this striped pillow and this pink floral pillow and I felt like an impossible search had finally come to an end. lol! I LOVE them and they will be great year-round pillows too. I mixed them in with this leather pillow and these other blue pillows that I just ordered. I added these gray and blue wool plaid pillows from my favorite Etsy pillow shop to the wicker chairs to round out the set.
I have had so many questions about these bells. They are a hot commodity and do sell out every year…as of this posting there are still some available here, so if you want some, get them now! Otherwise you’ll have to wait for next year. And they are SUCH a deal for the set! I have two sets and love them!
These yarn trees are an easy DIY, or you can pick some of these up if you’re not in the mood for a DIY. A glass vase with some pink ornaments is easy, but pretty decor for the coffee table.
I like to mix in the real greenery and flowers with the faux, I think it makes the faux look more real too. These flowers are pretty and SUPER long lasting. If you keep them in water they will stay alive for up to 2 weeks…and they are inexpensive at Trader Joe’s and come in a bunch of colors.
These great outdoor chairs are actually a staple in our living room. Don’t be afraid to use them indoors as well. I purchased ours at World Market several years go, but luckily these are almost identical and on sale! The only real difference with outdoor furniture is durability, and there is certainly nothing wrong with having something even MORE durable inside…am I right? 😉 . I’m sure those of you with pets or toddlers really know what I’m talking about! This pretty little table is so sassy and the perfect spot to display something pretty. I love the marble top. The shape is super cute and I found in on sale for a total deal too.
I love sharing the changing seasons in this room throughout the year. This inspiration board will give you an idea of the coastal look I will have in this space year-round.
