Cupcake Toppers Ideas : DIY Pom Pom Cupcake Toppers

I always love a fast, easy and adorable craft, and that’s exactly what these DIY pom pom cupcake toppers are.  If you are looking for cute cupcakes toppers ideas check out how adorable these are.  Did you see the Fiesta party I recently did for Oriental Trading Co.?  I made these cute cupcake toppers to go along the bottom of the cake.  It was such an easy colorful addition to the cake. I have seen similar cupcake toppers that cost a fortune, so it is so nice to be able to make your own for a fraction of the cost!  Affiliate links are included in this post.

The best part about these cupcake toppers is that you don’t even have to make the pompoms!  If you are in a time crunch, you can use these pre-made pompoms and then you can literally whip these cupcake toppers up in minutes!

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR DIY CUPCAKE TOPPERS

Toothpicks (you can use these white sticks instead if you prefer something a bit longer.  They are especially good if you are making these to use as a cake topper)

PomPoms (in varying sizes)

Hot Glue Gun

Of course you can make your own pompoms too if you’d like.  If you’ve never used one of these pompom makers before, I highly recommend adding them to your crafting arsenal.  They are one of my favorite tools.  Check out this post with a video tutorial of how to use the pompom maker…it’s SO easy!

HOW TO MAKE DIY CUPCAKE TOPPERS

Making these cupcake toppers is super fast!  I honestly don’t think you find easier cupcake toppers ideas!  Simply place a small ball of glue on the very top of a toothpick.  Separate the yarn on a pom pom to make it easier to stick the toothpick up into the middle of the pom and stick the glue end of the toothpick up into the pompom.  Give the pompom a squeeze to make sure it is securely attached to the toothpick and then fluff it up to make it look full.  Let it dry for just a minute and you are all set! 

I think these cupcake toppers are super versatile.  They look darling and would fit with just about any party theme.
