It’s always fun to get a few friends together and celebrate the holidays, and in our house we love to do that with movie nights. Putting something together that is cute doesn’t take a ton of effort, and for the kids, getting to invite some friends over for treats and a movie makes them feel special…so it’s a total mom win. These cute Halloween movie night party ideas are super easy, let me show you how to put one together yourself. This year we have decided host an Alfred Hitchcock movie night and show “The Birds.” It is creepy, but not too scary…and clean, so perfect for teens and tweens. I love exposing the kids to classics too.
HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT PARTY IDEAS
If you don’t already have a movie in mind to show, a quick search on Amazon will give you a pretty good idea of what is available and age appropriate for your audience. You can make your Halloween movie night party as easy or as over the top as you want. We’re going with easy. 😉
HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT PARTY DECOR
One thing I love about creating a party around a movie or TV show, is that it makes coming up with decor easy, simply stick with the theme of your movie. Since we are showing “The Birds” I purchased a bunch of realistic looking crows from Michaels…they are so realistic that our cute puppy Jack is not a fan. He could not stop staring at them and barking. 😉 A few years ago I purchased this black birdcage from Pottery Barn and it is a great addition to this decor. If you want to do a similar party, you can find a birdcage like this one here.
To make things easy I stuck with a black and white color scheme. I just used an assortment of black and/or white serving utensils, plates, cups, platters etc., things I already had on hand, which helps keep the cost minimal too. I did buy cute new black and white enamel cups , because they are SO cute and I couldn’t resist. They make great popcorn holders too. 😉 I have plates similar to these which worked perfectly, but if you don’t have real plates, there are tons of fun black and white paper plates that would work perfectly too. I love these. And bonus, clean up is easier! 😉
HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT PARTY FOOD
The food for your halloween movie night party can be super low key too…and still look totally fun. I bought some store bought pumpkin spice doughnuts and some chocolate cupcakes for more substantial treats, and then the rest of the treats were typical movie night snacks. Candy, popcorn and sodas. I strategically placed a few birds around the table to make them look like they were attempting to eat the treats. Birds everywhere…that is the idea.
That is it! I hope these quick and easy Halloween movie night party ideas have inspired you to throw your own movie night party this year!
