A few weeks ago at Alt I had the chance to take an up close and personal look at Minted’s art. Have you seen it before? As someone who regularly creates printables for you all and art prints, I always wondered how their printed material looked…paper quality (that’s huge for me!) and the color quality. They had the CUTEST booth set up with tons of valentine art and it was adorable! A paper lovers dream! 🙂 It was so nice to be able to see and touch their gorgeous product. I brought home a super cute valentine that inspired my valentine mantel décor this year.
The colors are so fun and cheery. That is my favorite part of Valentine’s Day!
Don’t you love that little whale valentine? I popped it in a frame and it was perfect. Mixing the yellow and the blue in with the traditional pink and red made it fresh and new. A cute metal cigar box I found in Chinatown on one of my trips to San Francisco brought in more color and pattern. A vintage mailbox I found on Etsy a few years ago made an interesting and unique vase for some awesome roses. Doesn’t the felted garland we made in this tutorial look so cute all strung up? Want to know a secret? They are SO easy to make, that Ashley finished most of the garland. She is always eager to help! 🙂
I’m such a sucker for type, this Emily Bronte quote was a must! That brush script is dreamy. I found the pink plastic mailbox in the Target $1 bins, the teeny honeycomb garland at Michaels, and I owned the Whisker Works lips and moustaches. They are always a hit at any party. 🙂 Ash and I made the button heart too…tutorial coming for that one soon! 🙂
Isn’t that heart print fun? Guess what? It’s not a print! At the Minted booth I was introduced to their gorgeous fabric. I saw this heart fabric and thought it would be fun to frame it. I think it looks pretty cute! The best part? I have a ton left over to make lots of other fun crafts with! 😉
I thought I’d try a little something fun…I’ve been thinking about the possibilities of video for a long time. There are so many fun things we can do and things I can show you, so I thought I’d experiment with a quick little “styling the mantel” video. This just shows you my process how everything is layered…(layers are KEY!) and how I start with a table full of stuff and arrange it. My hesitation with video is that I can’t video myself…and my perfectionist tendencies make it so I freak out and don’t do it sine I can’t make it perfect! 🙂 Well, I decided to get over that today and enlisted the help of my seasoned 8 and 12 year old videographers to film me. 😉 So excuse me that it isn’t perfect, but I wanted to share it anyways. 🙂
If you’re looking for some great holiday or everyday art, head on over to Minted and check out their gorgeous collection. I love that they support local and individual artists so they can do what they love. Enjoy!

**I have been sponsored by Minted to write this post. What does that mean? The sponsor, in this case Minted, has given me product in exchange for me purchasing items and styling them to showcase just how awesome they are. All products featured are items I am truly a fan of…places that I would shop, eat, and visit regardless of my affiliations with them. Thanks to the support of these sponsors, I am able to do what I love, and continue to share my tips and ideas with you!**

Looks amazing… you’ve inspired me!
