DIY Crafts: Twig and Felt Valentine Arrows

DIY Crafts

I was walking through Macy’s yesterday and their valentine campaign ads stuck out at me.  I know it sounds crazy, but I never know when inspiration is going to hit! 🙂  The tag line was “follow your heart.”  Instantly I thought of following…what do you follow?  Arrows that point you in the right direction!  An idea was born.   So, there you have it.  A little bit about how I am struck by inspiration every now and then. 🙂   These would be so cute not only for Valentine’s Day, but a Girl Scout bridging ceremony, a camping or glamping party, you name it…so many fun uses!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Felt (3 colors of your choosing)

Twigs (send the kiddos out to gather these up from around the neighborhood)

Glue Gun

Scissors

Clothespins

I simply cut two triangles for the tip and glued them together at one end of the twig.

Then, I cut two v-like shapes that I could over-lap and cut some fringe on to make the vanes.  This is totally free-form.  Whatever looks good to you works. 🙂

Once you’ve glued your pieces to the twig, you can glue the finished arrows to clothespins to turn them into clips.  They look super cute on favor bags! 😉
