DIY Party Decor : Spool Sucker Holders

Whenever I’m styling a party or dessert table I’m always looking for ways to add height.  Suckers and treats on sticks are always super cute, but finding ways to display them standing up can be tricky.  Last year when I did Ashley’s Fashion Camp party, I created these easy and cute spools to hold the suckers.

Here’s the easy how-to…

What you’ll need:

Wooden Spools

Twine

Tacky Glue

Using a paint brush or your finger, coat the middle part of the spool with a layer of glue.

Wrap your twine (you can use yarn too) tightly around the spool.  Don’t worry if one layer isn’t exactly next to the last.  You can wind it around a few times and then push it all together and continue winding to get a nice, tight look.

Once the spool is completely covered, trim the twine and let it dry.

Pop in a sucker and Par-tay!
