They’re here! A few weeks ago, after a scouring the internet for what has seemed like months looking for the perfect fabrics, I finally ordered fabric swatches. I narrowed it down to the 12 or so fabrics I posted about in this post, and now the pillows I chose have started arriving and I couldn’t be more excited! I feel like as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten a lot more comfortable in my own “design skin” if you will. Our house has jumped all over the place a little bit as I’ve changed color schemes, furniture and styles over the years of living here. I never planned on staying in this house for as long as we now have been here, and I think that has been part of the problem. I have always felt like things are temporary, like we were going to move at some point, so why invest too much time and money making more expensive customizations to the space like custom drapes and such. I was also in my early twenties when we moved in, which means I have changed a lot too! I have finally figured out what I love and I am comfortable with the fact that while my house may not be as big as I like, or look like what I consider to be “perfect,” I think it’s comfortable and inviting, so I love it. I talked a bit more about this when I chatted about the all-white interior design trend a while back. So, I’ve finally decided that it’s time to stop feeling temporary and embrace my space. I’m finishing off ALL of my rooms…all of those pesky things that have been on the honey-do list for years, the projects I have put off and I’m making it feel finished around here. I’ve been looking every where for family room ideas, living room ideas, bedroom ideas and more. My love of blue and the beach and a more casual, relaxed feel is being infused throughout and I’m excited to have everything feeling finished and cohesive!
So, here’s a sneak peek at those pillows, my new lamp from HomeGoods that I absolutely LOVE, and the new rug that I installed a few weeks ago. It’s exciting to start to see it coming together…just in time to start changing everything with holiday decorations. lol!
I had these pillows custom made for me, and if you love them as much as I do, you can buy them here:
There are more pillows on their way…can’t wait until they are all here. Until then, I just have to work on drapes, and accessories. 😉 I think it’s the drapes that might kill me. I have always been so afraid to commit to window coverings. lol!
Maybe I’m not too smart to try and tackle more than one room at once, but you can see the beginnings of what’s happening in other rooms in these posts…
