Months ago, when we first started this crazy renovation, I was SO excited to introduce you guys to the Samsung Frame. Do you remember this post? At the time, I had visions of Sugar Plums (and The Frame) dancing in my head as I designed the floor plan of this house. It was a wild process, trying to plan ahead for what elements the room would need to incorporate, measure for future pieces of furniture, etc. One thing that I KNEW was going in the family room was a beautiful new Samsung The Frame. I have to be honest…we watch a LOT of TV. There, I said it. 😉 . Because we watch so much TV, it really isn’t practical to put it behind any kind of cupboard or door to hide it, while at the same time, I really don’t want to look at it all the time when it’s just hanging out as a big black void on our wall. The Frame solves this problem. With it’s sleek black frame (there are also three additional bezel options in light wood, dark wood or white) and a No-Gap wall mount to hang the TV flush to your wall like a picture, it fits seamlessly into any decor.
This week, Christmas came early at our house when Santa dropped off a beautiful new 43″ Frame for me to play with…and now I feel like I need one for every room! It is beautiful!
How gorgeous does that look? Can you even believe that is a TV? I picked this picture to display (out of of a gallery of 100 professionally curated pieces of art from different genres that comes preloaded on the TV) because it is of the Great Salt Lake right here in UT. The 4K picture is incredible, and The Frame has a built in brightness sensor that adjusts the color and brightness of the image to the ambient light in the room so the art piece always looks natural regardless of where it is or what the time of day. It is SO slim…just like a regular picture frame:
I love that it comes with this sleek stand because I was too anxious to get it out of the box and couldn’t wait to get it up and running. I even set it up all by myself…that’s saying something! It is so easy! I have the family room set up so we can eventually mount it to the wall where it will really shine, but I need to make a few other decisions about built-ins before we go for it.
Of course I had to play with a few scenarios…which means I needed to clear out the room…seriously, we play constant musical furniture around here. 😉 . Here are a few of my favorite art choices to display on The Frame…
I LOVE the wildlife options. With each image you can choose to display with no matte, a modern matte, or a shadow box matte. This is the no matte option.
Here is a cool modern piece with a colored matte and using the shadowbox feature. SO pretty!
It is so fun to have something new to watch our favorite Christmas movies on, snuggled up by the fire in the family room.
Now I just need to decide how I want to decorate around it. Here are a few options…
Leave the console and do a gallery wall around The Frame
I like this option, but the wall is SO big I’m thinking that once the Christmas tree comes down it would need to be a HUGE gallery wall to make it work. Another option is to create a built in on this wall that matches the look of the lockers in the mudroom. It would create nice storage for games and DVD’s in this room. I am always a fan of extra storage…plus it would help manage the huge wall.
After seeing The Frame in person, I am also considering one for the office in the very front of the house. This is kind of a flex space that is open to the entry way. I need somewhere to put a computer that is downstairs so the kids can do homework and I can work down there with them, but I also think it would be nice to have a TV in there so that when I’m working I can watch a show. I hadn’t previously thought of putting one there since it is open to the entry, but now that I can have something that looks like art, I think this might be the perfect solution! There is already a plug for a wall mount right behind where the TV is shown here too…I was thinking ahead! 😉 . What do you think about these options?
The Frame is seriously a game changer in the way we think about and design a space around a TV. Do you have a room that is begging for this awesome TV that looks like art? I seriously want to replace all of my TV’s with The Frame!
I’d love to see your spaces and where you would put The Frame! Happy designing!
