Pink Peppermint Design on YouTube

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there have been some videos popping up around here. 😉 You may not know this about me, but I’ve been making YouTube videos for more than 13 years…no, this is not an April Fool’s joke. You read that right! I started blogging about 14 years ago, and not long after, I braved YouTube to create scrapbooking how-to videos under a different blog name at the time. I would put the kids down for naps and then whip up a video. It was a LOT more time consuming then because I needed to record things on my camcorder, then have a special program to transfer it to a computer, then another program to turn it into a movie, then I could upload it…and it took FOR. EV. ER. But, it was fun to be able to teach people that way. 🙂 Imagine my surprise when I went back to look at that old channel earlier this week and saw that some of those videos have over 100,000 views! Whoa! That was a shocker.

I have dabbled with different videos over the years here and there, but haven’t really done a ton for years. With all this down time on my hands, I decided to get busy making a few more. This week I did a couple of new videos…one on the DIY bunny pom-poms and one on how to make the sugar cookies from yesterday, and they were super fun…

BUT I WANT TO KNOW…

Do you watch YouTube Videos?

What types of videos do you like to watch?

How long are the videos you typically watch?

I have all kinds of ideas of different things I can do, but I’d love to know what YOU want. On the blog I always cover everything from travel and design, to entertaining and recipes, not to mention DIYs and printables. Everything I love. But what do you love? What would you like to watch?

Interior Design videos? What types? (i.e. how to style a coffee table? how to choose pillows for a sectional? room reveals? our home? etc.)

Craft DIY? (fun and cute DIY party stuff? etc.)

Recipes?

Travel? (hotel room sneak peeks? videos of pretty places with pretty photography? etc.)

Throw all your ideas out there! I want to hear them! 🙂

Honestly, I always struggle trying to decide where to head around here. I love to do so many things, and I love to share them all with you…but I’d really like to know what brings you here. What do you come here to find? How can I help you? 🙂

I have shied away from making videos for so long because I have felt like they need to be perfect. The lighting, the sound, the camera angles…but I can’t get it perfect, so I haven’t wanted to do it. (plus, let’s be honest…then I have to shower and get out of my PJs. lol!). When I made videos years ago it was such a new thing I didn’t feel that pressure. Now there are professional YouTubers! What? I can’t even believe it.

Well, I watched a video the other day that said “don’t worry about everything being perfect, just make videos!” And frankly, after seeing what my kids are watching these last two weeks of quarantine, I realize that people might not care about that so much. 😉 They might actually like something that isn’t quite so perfect because it’s not intended to be. What are your thoughts?

The more feedback you give me, the more I can work on creating content that you really want to see…imperfect as it may be. 😉

I am working on some things these next few weeks. Hopefully they will be fun for you. I’m having fun making them at least. 😉

If you are on YouTube, I’d love it if you’d subscribe to my channel

I can’t wait to hear from you and find out what you want to see. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. I sure appreciate you!

Have a great day!
