Hello friends! I am so excited to be joining in on Marty’s spring home tour. I don’t know about you guys, but things around here are starting to feel a teensy bit back to normal, and doing a home tour definitely helps me feel like things are getting back on track! I have been working so hard on this OC Ranch Reno during Covid and it has been a bit of a crazy challenge trying to take a house that was basically torn completely apart and put it back together at a time when everything is either shut down or completely unreliable. Not to mention how hard supplies have been to come by too! It’s been crazy! Did you get a chance to take a look at Rhoda’s beautiful tour? If not, make sure that you hop on over there to take a look at her beautiful home after you stop here. It’s always a treat to see what she’s up to. Today I’m sharing the “still in process” OC Ranch Reno family/living room. It’s coming together. Fortunately it’s not a very large room, so I don’t need too much more in here. It’s always fun to add some seasonal touches to our main living space every few months, so I had fun playing with what I do have so far! 🙂 If you’re looking for a few small living room decorating ideas, I hope these photos provide you with some inspiration. Overall, this space is about 10′ x 14′, so I try to make the most of the space that we’ve got! 🙂

The couch and our new coffee table literally arrived just in time to get photographed. It was kind of a miracle considering they were ordered months ago! I designed the couch so that we could comfortably seat as many people as possible, and give us the feel of a sectional, without blocking off the room from the kitchen with the back of a big couch. I brought in some blues and pinks for spring and I love the contrast of the blue pillows on the couch.
I’m so happy to be back down the street from my favorite florist Posey Pop. She popped by one day with this surprise arrangement, and I couldn’t believe how perfect it was on the coffee table. It looks like it was made to go with the pillows! 🙂
This house is just a few minutes from the coast, so as I’ve re-done it I’ve added in a lot of coastal touches. Lots of rattan and natural elements. That chandelier over the kitchen table was my first purchase when we demoed the house! I kept it in the garage for over a year before I got to see it hung…and I LOVE it!! I think it’s fun and pairs perfectly with the dining chairs.
I get tons of questions about these barstools too. They are super inexpensive, comfy to sit on and I LOVE the look of them.
This Los Angeles book is a favorite coffee table book of mine. I have a copy in the #1987FixerUpper too. I love the vibrant blue cover on it, and that it holds some personal meaning to us. These faux ferns are SO good. I have a few of them around the house.
We always have cozy throws to curl up with on the couch. The ribbing on this blue one is so pretty. I found this perfect art at HomeGoods. It usually takes several trips to get just the right pieces, but I love the hunt!
I have had my eye on this chair for a couple of years. It’s quickly become one of the most coveted spots in the house because it is so comfy. I like the idea that the cushions are loose, so if I ever need to I can replace them or have them recovered. I am always thinking of how practical a piece is. Sometimes I could let myself throw more caution to the wind ;), but I can’t help it. I love versatility and practicality. lol!
This entire wall used to be pantry cabinets. When I re-designed the kitchen I added in this little open area so I could add some open shelving and make it look pretty. It’s open to the living room, so I wanted something fun to look at.
So there she is! I still have several things coming to add to this space and cozy it up a bit. It’s definitely a work in progress…but it’s a fun project! 🙂
