The nights are getting longer and the days are heating up around here, which can only mean one thing…SUMMER! After such a long, weird year, glimpses of normalcy are starting to appear and it feels SO good to almost have this difficult school year for the kiddos behind us and a long, hot summer in front of us! When Marty from A Stroll Thru Life though it might be fun to put a little summer preview home tour together, I thought it was the perfect excuse to get Ash’s room lightened up a bit for the season. If you are visiting from Shand’s beautiful blog, Quarter’s One, welcome! I’m excited to have her joining us on this tour because she is a new addition and I love getting to know new friends and bloggers!
So, on to the tour of Ash’s summer bedroom decor…we are still in decorating mode around here. The construction phase is over, but I have several touches to put together in the rooms…her bedroom is 3/4 of the way there! I hope to be adding some more art and accessories and drapes shortly, and she is begging for a desk. 😉
She begged for a pink room, but I wanted this pretty blue/gray, and I won. Now she loves it, so that worked out well. 😉 This rug was really the start of the design. Everything in this house is very coastal, so I wanted to stick with that theme/vibe. This platform bed is a bit of a white washed oak and I love the clean, modern feel it gives the room when paired with her cute nightstands and dresser. This basket is hard to find and sells out regularly, it’s in stock as of this morning, so grab it while you can!
If you have ever had a teenage girl, or known one, you know you need lots…and I mean LOTS of storage to hide all kinds of little “treasures.” Make-up, nail polish, hair accessories, jewelry, notes, ticket stubs, etc. The list goes on and on. 😉 These pretty boxes are a great place to stash all those trinkets and still keep things looking neat and pretty. If those boxes aren’t in stock anymore, these are a great option that I also own and love.
This pretty basket is the perfect spot for her to toss the clothes that normally cover her floor and bed. lol!
I LOVE a bed with lots of texture. It just makes it look so inviting! We have lots of light layers here for summer. A light quilted blanket, a thin, gauzy, ruffled duvet cover, a thin Turkish blanket at the foot of the bed and lots of pillows in the sandy and blue-gray colors of the rest of the room.
I found this rattan lamp and knew it was the perfect accessory for this dresser and functional too since it lightens up a rather dark corner of the room. It’s very affordable too, which is perfect for a teen room!
This stunning arrangement from my favorite @poseypop needed a moment of it’s own. I love the peachy pink shades here paired with Ash’s blue-gray dresser. While I can’t always have gorgeous arrangements like this around the house, I try to as often as possible, and nothing says spring and summer like fresh flowers!
You can get a better view of the ruffled duvet and shams here. This is such a light and airy fabric, it’s perfect for summer and gives the bed almost an ethereal feel.
