Week In Review

Happy April!! Can you believe it? It hasn’t felt much like spring anywhere I’ve been lately…whether CA or UT. It’s just snowy and rainy and chilly! But April showers bring May flowers, right? 🙂 We keep getting notices about possible  flooding hitting our neighborhood and they are having community events to sandbag everything before the snow starts melting, so it should be an interesting few months. I’m so grateful for the water though! We all need it…everywhere in the west!

disneyland

It rained a good portion of this week, but Tuesday was really nice so Ash and I made a quick trip to Disneyland…it was SO crowded!! Spring break is definitely in full effect all over the country and I think half of the country decided to come here! 😉

disneyland raspberry mickey macaron

We’ve been having fun when we visit trying different treats that we don’t usually get. Ash loves to read all of the blogs and follow all of the Disney social media personalities, so she is always aware of the latest and greatest or trending things happening at the parks. This week we tried the raspberry macaron and it was quite good! I was surprised! It was FULL of fresh raspberries and was plenty big for both of us to share. Each one of those ears is about the size of a regular macaron for comparison. Definitely worth a try if you can get your hands on one next time you’re at the park!

weekly walking

Our daily walks were on the back burner this week due to the rain, but we did get out whenever we could to soak up some vitamin D! 🙂

I got to go have lunch with a dear friend this week. We went to one of my  favorite local spots…Ellie’s table in downtown San Juan Capistrano. It’s such a place with incredible pastries and sandwiches and salads. It’s SO good! If you’re in town sometime, be sure to give it a try!

This kid cracks me up! This week at the student bookstore on campus they were having a March Madness contest with a pop-a-shot machine. You had to try out (which 100s of kids did) and then they put the top 64 kids in a bracket. Andy was in the top 5 scorers in the preliminary contest, and was placed in a top seed for the contest. There were prizes every step along the way and he ended up going all the way to the final and won a bunch of fun prizes. He is never one to shy away from a contest on campus. 😉

We got to celebrate Andy this weekend. I can’t believe how fast these kids grow up! John and Andy went to the afternoon general conference session. I love it when they get to do special things together.

Ash and I were home in our jammies watching on TV and eating cheese. 😉

We’re heading into another busy week and I’m excited to have visitors for spring break. Lots of cleaning to do and prep for Easter next weekend. If you need any fun ideas here are some great ones for teens and college students.
