Well, I did it. I finished decorating for Christmas this weekend…on November 15th we are ready to go. 😉 A friend sent me this funny IG post this weekend and I thought…oops! Guilty as charged! lol! No, really. It’s not that I have forgotten about Thanksgiving at all…as a matter of fact, I LOVE Thanksgiving. It’s just that I also LOVE the Christmas season and think that the joy it brings needs to last a little bit longer. That’s ok, right? 🙂

How was your week/weekend? Besides completing decorating we didn’t do a whole lot around here. Life has been moving at warp speed lately and poor John has been extra swamped. That poor guy works himself to death and this weekend he just needed to sleep and catch up a bit. He flew in Friday night and was back gone again yesterday morning at a conference. So far in the first 15 days of the month he’s traveled 7 times. Whoa. All that while completing a huge deal that he worked on for 2 years and running his regular everyday work…which now just more than doubled with this acquisition. The poor guy literally has not take one day off in over 2 years. He is long overdue for a vacation. We did squeeze in a date night at Fashion Island on our way back from picking him up from the airport Friday night. I just love how pretty it is there.
I had to pop into Anthropologie. The one at Fashion Island is HUGE and amazing. I’m not sure If it still is, but when it opened a couple of years ago it was the biggest store they had. It has a full furniture section and everything. It’s incredible. It’s even more incredible this time of year when it’s FULL of shiny and sparkly goodies, taffeta skirts, velvet wraps, sequined tops and embroidered everything…all kinds of beautiful things in gorgeous colors and patterns.
I only wish I had about 35 black tie events to attend this Christmas so I could get a bunch of special occasion outfits. I would love every one of these pretty things!
Speaking of fun new things, I did pick up these adorable tennis shoes at the mall this week when Ash and I ran over for dinner. These have been a round for a while, and I have seen them all over and always thought they were so cute. When I was out walking this week I ran into a friend who was wearing them and I just had to have a pair…they are just so fun! These will be my fancy sneakers for going out. 😉
Ash and I grabbed some dinner at the mall while we were there. I just LOVE spending time with this girl of mine. She is a TRUE delight. So witty, kind, smart and fun. She is thoughtful and polite, and just all around wonderful. I might be a bit biased, but she is truly my bestie and I just wish she never had to grow up and leave me. We have too much fun together.
I managed to drag Jack and Sam along for a 6 mile walk this week. Of course we had to get a polar pop to reward them. 😉 Jack loves pebble ice as much as I do. The funniest part was as soon as he was done with the water, I dumped the ice out for him so he could get to it easier…and instead of eating it, he decided to lay down on top of it. HA! I guess he was a little toasty.
The poor boys didn’t know what hit them once we got home. 😉 All Jack wanted to do was rest…Sam apparently wanted to spoon. lol!
It’s Missionary Monday, so I’m anxiously awaiting a call from this cutie today. He’s been surprising me lately and sending me more pictures. I don’t care how grainy they are…I’ll take any pics I can get of that cute face!
I’m always so grateful for Sundays. It was so nice yesterday to attend church. I love to be uplifted by the messages about our Savior. I am so grateful for the opportunity to go each week and re-charge my batteries for another week. It’s so nice the rest of the day to just get to spend the afternoon with my cute girl relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.
I’m not very good about getting in front of the camera, but these days as I realize just how quickly I’m going to be an empty nester, I’m trying to make a better effort to capture these moments together and actually be IN a picture or two, so I thought I’d start a new tradition…a Sunday selfie right after church. The one day I can guarantee we’ll both be in the same place at the same time (and not in our jammies). lol! 😉
I hope you are looking forward to a great week. Can you believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week? It’s go time folks!! There is LOTS of fun stuff coming to the blog this week, so check back often so you don’t miss out!
Have a wonderful week my friends!! Thanks for starting your week with me!
xoxo,
Tammy
