Bedroom Design Ideas : Updating Andy’s Room

I am getting SO excited that Andy will be home in just a few short months! July can’t get here fast enough! Since we moved in…and really even before that, Andy has always kind of had a hodge-podge room. Hand me down furniture and kid’s stuff. I’ve made it work and it’s been fine, but now that he’s going to be home (and an adult..YIKES!!), I’m thinking that I’d like to re-do his bedroom for him. Along with it being updated for him when he’s home, the other benefit will be that it looks a little more finished when guests come to visit. Realistically, Andy’s going to be away at school most of the year for the next many years…so it will be nice to not only have a space for him to come home to that’s a bit more sophisticated, but also a place that looks pulled together and nice for anyone that comes to ski or hang out with us while he’s gone. Bedroom design ideas are so fun for me to pull together. I am such a visual person that having a design board really helps me see a room come to life. Here’s what I’m thinking…

I’m thinking of making John attempt our first ever wood working project in this room. Eek! I think it would be really nice to have some board and batten in here. Just along the back wall with the bed on it. We’ll see what he thinks! 😉

I love . It’s a great modern look and the oatmeal colored linen goes with everything.

You all know I love blue, so are calling my name. I’m thinking about painting the board and batten a greige, so those blue nightstands will be really pretty against it.

is so cute and $20!! A must have for this room!

I have in the OC Ranch Reno, and it is such a great neutral rug, so I want to use it in this room too. It pulls in all the gray and brown tones in the walls and furniture.

Greenery is a must in every room, so will add some height and color and make the room come to life.

I love the clean lines of . The darker wood will be a pretty contrast with the light linen bed.

A cute , and some rustic lamps will round out the design. And pillows….love the woven texture on this lumbar and this cute blue plaid pillow will pull the blue from the nightstands and other accents in.

Here’s a little look at what his bedroom looks like right now…

I can’t wait to show you the updated space! Now the trick is going to see if I can get it all done (and delivered!) in just a few months. These supply chain issues are sure making renovations a little more of a gamble these days! Have you had any issues with things you’ve ordered or renovations you’ve been trying to complete? I’d love to hear your stories!
