As hard as it is for me to let go of summer, It means that spooky season is just around the corner, and that is definitely something to look forward to! If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know that I am obsessed with Halloween (and pretty much the entire holiday season!) I am always on the search for the best Halloween decorations and looking for new and creative ways to decorate the front porch, the living room, the coolest way to make the front yard look amazing for trick or treaters…you get the idea! I am always looking for a new theme and great displays to inspire me each Halloween season and as soon as October 1st rolls around the house is all ready for a month of fun Halloween celebrations.

Los Angeles and the Orange County area are actually known for some of the best Halloween houses in the country. Our neighborhood has been on the news in recent years and is frequently named the best place in the country to celebrate Halloween. One of our favorite houses has a pirate ship in the front every year with an awesome interactive display. We have a haunted house down the street with all kinds of creepy clowns. That’s Ashley’s least favorite house. 😉 I like a little creepy, but I also want something that is a little more friendly for the whole family.
Last year I created a little bit of a spooky scene with some witch hats and some spider webs and giant spiders. I don’t tend to do much with special effects or light displays, I just want something that makes it easy for the trick or treaters to get to the front door without getting too spooked.
We get TONS of little kids…like hundreds, and I don’t want them to get too scared. (It can get to be chaos on the front porch on Halloween!)
I don’t just like to decorate the outside of the house, I love to make the inside of the house look fun too!
I love to find unique Halloween decorations and try to make things still look pretty, but spooky. Here are some of my favorite finds that decorate the rooms of my home. Click on any image for more info.
I like to look at HomeGoods starting as soon as they put things out…which is usually around late July. Some of my favorite pieces have come from there. Don’t just look in the home stores. Some of my best decorations are actually Halloween party decorations from the party store. There are very cute garlands and signs in party shops.
