Our Fall Living Room Decor Tour

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We were on the road for most of it, and it never ceases to amaze me every time we take a road trip just how beautiful our world is! So many pretty skies and fields, mountains and valleys…it was fun to drive this time of year as fall is starting to set in in many places. We loved seeing orange and yellow wild flowers taking over on the sides of the road and leaves starting to turn on the tops of the mountains. We arrived back in Orange County to 100 degree temps, which is really how fall around here tends to look every year. So, it’s probably no surprise that our idea of fall decor in September is more about just bringing in some natural elements and textures and a few darker colors here and there. I usually save the pumpkins such for November. I always love joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life in one of her wonderful home tours each year.  I really enjoy looking at everyone’s tours each season, and seeing how they incorporate fall decor into their living space.  If you are new to my blog or joining me from Worthing Court, welcome! I just love Suzy’s beautiful home. It’s a pleasure to have you here.

This living room kind of lends itself to fall decor because of it’s camel color sofa and rich tones in the pretty rug. This room doesn’t get a ton of natural light, so I really try to incorporate some lighter fabrics and accents to help brighten things up. These linen covered chairs were a great HomeGoods find that help bring more light and bright in here.

This marble coffee table is another way I lightened things up. Not only is this the darkest room in the house, but it’s also the smaller living area, so furniture needs to be a smaller scale to fit in here. This pretty coffee table with it’s unique shape and iron legs was the perfect find. It doesn’t take up too much visual space and is the perfect size for this room.

I’m still on the hunt for the perfect piece for this area next to the stairs. I can’t decide if I want to add a cool wicker bench like this one, or some pretty smaller scale chairs. Until then, I picked up these cute little inexpensive ottomans/stools from Target. I love the velvet and the color was great for this room. What I really need to do is add a TV in here so people will actually use all the seating in here! lol! No one is very interested in hanging out in here without something to watch! 😉

This sideboard has been on my list as something I have wanted to purchase for a LONG time…I just needed a spot for it. I found it! 😉 Where there’s a will, there’s a way, right? 🙂 The glass doors with the wood interior and drawers that you can see is so pretty. It creates a little sense of an entryway in the hallway that is right next to the front door.

Remember those natural elements I was talking about? Well, in our house that pretty much means fresh eucalyptus. I can’t get enough of it. It smells amazing, looks gorgeous, lasts for ever and is inexpensive to buy. I’m even lucky enough to be able to forage for it in the neighborhood. This vase is one of my current favorites. The size is just right. Mine is sold out but this one is very similar and so pretty.

During the fall I fill the shelves of the console with some more unique, natural looking vases and accents. This mango wood vase and cool terra cotta pot are a couple of my favorites.

Throws are a must in every room in this house. We like to get cozy, especially during the fall months and I love the way they add color and texture. So do some great baskets that also help bring that natural feel into the room. I brought in some darker blues in the form of throws and pillows to cozy things up in here.

Even if I can’t convince kids to hang out in here without a TV, Sam finds it a favorite spot to sit. 😉
