Move over pastels…this spring is all about going bold! While pastels are pretty, lately I’ve been feeling like I want something that will carry me past Easter, into the later spring. One of my favorite things about spring (and I’m sure yours too) are the beautiful blooms popping up all over. Most of these flowers are vivid hues of red, yellow, purple and so on. I was inspired by a recent photo I took of a beautiful flowers all over Victoria, BC Canada when we were there last spring, and that carried over into a recent shopping trip. These bold, green rimmed plates that I was lucky enough to find at HomeGoods, (by one of my favorite designers), were calling my name. I knew, that when paired with bold colors, they would help create the perfect spring tabletop.
I paired the plates with a bold napkin from Crate and Barrel, vintage glassware I had picked up at HomeGoods on a previous trip, a salad plate from Sur La Table, and I made some pom pom napkin rings to add a fun, homespun look and tie in the colors from the napkin. They were SO easy! Tutorial coming soon! 😉
In a total “HomeGoods miracle,” for those of you that can relate, I picked up these napkins at a different HomeGoods location the week before stumbling on these plates! I was in love with their simple green ribbon band and thought they would be useful for so many events. How lucky was I to find matching plates? 🙂
I hope you’re feeling inspired to go bold this spring and leave the pastels behind!
Happy designing!

As a member of the HomeGoods pinterest team, I have been sponsored by HomeGoods. What does that mean? The sponsor, in this case HomeGoods, has given me product in exchange for me purchasing items and styling them to showcase just how awesome they are. All products featured are items I am truly a fan of…places that I would shop, eat, and visit regardless of my affiliations with them. Thanks to the support of these sponsors, I am able to do what I love, and continue to share my tips and ideas with you!
