London Weather : What to pack when visiting London in the Spring

At any time of year, London is one of the best cities in the world to visit, but Springtime is like no other!  We were there near the end of Spring and the weather was amazing.  When I say amazing, it’s still London weather, so you’ll still need your wellies and coats, but you can lighten things up a bit with ,   and in place of down jackets.  Temperatures can vary from quite cool to warm sunny days, so plan for layers and you’ll be prepared for everything.  With all this talk of London travel lately, I thought I would put together a packing travel guide of items similar to what I packed for our trip.  No matter what time of year a packable pocket or is a must.  It WILL rain, so come prepared! 🙂

Because London weather can be a bit unpredictable in the spring, it is also good to remember that London is one of those places where you can find anything you need on just about every corner.  So, if you forget something or the weather changes drastically, you can pick it up once you’re there.   Like anywhere else, pack for the environment.  I have put rather , , and on this list, along with a few items.  When we travel, we canvas a city…walking almost every where and are out an about from morning to late at night, often without a stop at the hotel to change during the day.  When I am on my feet, riding public transit and visiting sites all day, I want to be cute, but comfortable also.

Including a few and outfits ensures that if the opportunity to get great tickets to a show or try the latest fancy restaurants in town comes up, I am prepared.  And, unlike California restaurants there are dress codes at many of the nicer restaurants in London.  Make sure to pack a jacket for your man otherwise you may be making a stop at Selfridges. Not that that’s a bad thing. 😉

You’re all packed…now what?  Check out some of our most popular posts about visiting London:
