It’s the most wonderful time, of the year… 😉 well, if you’re a mom that is! 🙂 Finally, for one day you are doted on, somebody else cleans up the messes, and you are showered with love and appreciation, all while the kids get along peacefully…at least until about 7:30am. 😉 I have learned over the years that my birthday and Mother’s Day are actually stressful days for the hubby. Trying to figure out what to give the women in their lives is a hard thing for the guys to figure out, and it can make for some serious stress…so why not make it easy on them? 😉 I’ve collected a few of my favorite things that I use or wear just about everyday, as well as some fun, beautiful things that I love and I think make the best Mother’s Day gifts. I’m excited to share them with you. Pass this list along to the hubs and make his life easier while guaranteeing that you get something you’ll love. 😉
Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start… 😉 it’s no secret that I use a camera EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY LIFE. I honestly feel like there is one attached to my hip. I’ve talked about this little beauty before, but I have to talk about it again because I grow to love it even more the longer I have it. Superb picture quality, ease of use, it’s tiny, changeable lenses, video, offers many of the same features as my BIG Nikon, LOVE IT! If you are a fan of a 50mm f1.8 lens, then you’ll want to be sure to purchase this lens as well. Mom will love how lightweight it is and the fact that it can fit in her purse, while at the same time giving her many more options than a phone camera. It also talks wirelessly to your smartphone for seamless transfer between devices so you can instagram your beautiful images! 🙂
Speaking of tech gadgets, I love to cover mine with pretty covers. I get compliments on this iphone cover ALL the time, and I love that it’s clear, so you can see the fact that the phone is gold. This one is pretty fab too, and it’s an online exclusive! My ipad mini stays looking cute in black and white polka dots from Kate Spade. This is a newer cover that I LOVE , who doesn’t love stripes? Or how about this fun print for the summer?
If mom is a crafter, she’ll love this book. The cover is SO pretty and what’s inside is even better! It will look great on display and it will teach her how to make pretty things. WIN WIN!
I stopped at the mall before I headed to Vegas a few weeks ago, and had a few spare minutes, so when a make-up girl caught my attention and asked me if she could make up my eyes I thought, sure, why not. I NEVER do that! I always look like a clown when I leave. I am SUCH a simple make-up girl. Oil of Olay, some cover girl powder, Loreal mascara and done! Out the door in 3 minutes flat. 😉 I’m usually afraid of doing anything else because I have NO CLUE what I’m doing in the make-up dept. I kind of wanted to try something fun though since I as headed to Vegas for the weekend, so I let her play with my eyeshadow and holy moly! I loved it! Even better? It was super easy and I an now re-create it. So, I’m recommending my new favorite eye shadow. 🙂 It stays on forever AND it comes with a tutorial sheet so you can DIY. Awesome! A couple more of my favorites are by Lush. I have really bad cracked hands and feet, so my sweet friend Skye introduced me to Lemony Flutter…it not only smells heavenly but makes my hands and feet feel like buttah! They also make three of my favorite lip products. They all smell amazing, which is always one of my big beefs with lipstick…it usually smells awful! The Mint Julips is GREAT for exfoliating, the It Started With a Kiss is a nice lip stain that stays on forever but isn’t a crazy bright color, and the Honey Trap is great for my usual chap-stick lip treatment (which is my usual everyday look). 😉
Here are my two jewelery staples. These earrings from Nordstrom are my FAVORITE!! I saw a friend wearing them and had to have a pair…the problem was…I couldn’t find them! She was so sweet and found me a pair and now I wear them practically everyday. This simple gold bar necklace is my other favorite of the moment. Delicate and simple it goes with just about everything. Pair your new necklace and earrings with my new favorite sunglasses ( I NEVER thought I could pull these off…but I love them!) and you are ready for some fun!
Confession time…I have never owned a set of coasters. In December my sweet friend Mandi gifted me some darling monogram coasters and now I wonder how I ever got along without them. This Thomas Paul set from Wayfair is on my coffee table now too.
If you’re still looking for the perfect gift, here are a few more favorites…
Oilcloth Bag (great for the pool, park or beach)
Recipe Box (fill it with anything, it just looks cute on the kitchen counter!)
You’re sure to make mom feel special with anything you give her…whether it’s a hug, breakfast in bed, or one of these fun gifts. I hope you are feeling a little less stressed about finding the perfect gift!
