Prettiest Christmas Garlands for Your Home

Christmas decorations always make everything look so pretty. While I’m not a total minimalist, I’m also usually not one that likes things unnecessarily cluttered…but when it comes to Christmas more seems to be more. 😉 I feel like greenery and garlands is what makes the biggest impact when it comes to beautifying our homes for the Christmas season. The tree, the fresh cedar and even more importantly the garlands strung up on every banister, mantel and table.

I have learned over the years as I have tried all different types of garlands, fresh and faux, that as much as I LOVE fresh garland, I have become a faux garland girl over the last few years. Every year I would buy fresh garland and within a week, it was dry and brittle and looking less than stellar. Because I tend to decorate early, that often meant that my garland was dead by December 1st. Oops! 😉 Now, I have invested in some really pretty faux garlands that last me year after year and look beautiful for the entire season.

This cedar garland is the best I’ve found. It’s soft and natural looking and really pretty. I used it on the table, the mantel and the staircase. It works wonderfully mixed with other garlands too. I like to use it with these teeny fairy lights. They give it the perfect little glow.

This felt garland is SO cute! I have a couple just like this that I love to use in the kid’s bedrooms…particularly in the twin guest room on each of the beds in there. I love the whimsical feel of it.

wood bead garland

This wood garland is actually a staple on the coffee table year round in our house, but it really shines at Christmas. It’s big and chunky and really pretty.

These little bells are so dainty and pretty. I love the antique feel. Little garlands like this, or like this gorgeous star garland are great layered on a mantel with bigger greenery like the cedar garland too. If you love the look of these little bells, check out these pretty bells that I love to use on the tops of presents too.

If you are looking for an alternative green garland, this magnolia garland is stunning. I have seen these with the underside of the leaves painted gold too for a little sparkle. It would be easy to do to a few leaves here and there for a really gorgeous touch.

I love a wood bead garland on the tree. I have 4 strands that I add to our tree each year and I LOVE this version with the addition of the little snowflakes.

How cute are these little Santas?! Such a clever use of pom poms. The kids will love this adorable garland.

Etsy is SUCH a great place to find fun and unique Christmas garlands.

This year I’ll be adding this adorable garland to my tree and other spots in the house too. I love the dainty feel of it and the pretty shape.
