Week in Review

I hope you all had a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend! Ash and I just got back, so it feels like a Monday to me. John, Ash and I met up in Phoenix for a quick getaway and to visit some family. It was a quick weekend…made even quicker by a 5 hour flight delay trying to get there…but it was so nice to spend some time at one of our favorite spots in the desert.

This last week has been busy getting things ready at the house for Andy to come home in just 10 short weeks! I can’t even believe it’s that close!! I’ve been joking that I feel like I’m nesting again like I did when I was expecting my kids. I just want everything to be perfect when he gets here. 😉 The backyard has been having some major drainage issues…some that actually were causing water to run toward the house and cause problems. So, we’re trying to put some pavers in in place of the solid concrete in hopes that the cracks in the pavers and new and additional drains will help solve that problem.

Another little project I’ve been trying to get done is wallpapering a few small spots in the house. I finally picked a few papers…I’m such a commitment phobe! 😉 I am seriously in love with these picks though and can’t wait to see them up on the wall! This one will go in the powder bath and this one in the kid’s bathroom.

I’ve been trying to find some great faux eucalyptus to make some arrangements out of. I’ve ordered a ton and finally found three that I think make a pretty, realistic looking arrangement.  Here are the three stems I combined:

These stems are AMAZING!! So flexible and life-like!

Here are a few highlights from our weekend in Arizona at the Biltmore. The weather was pretty perfect for some time by the pool.

The grounds at the Arizona Biltmore | Luxury Resort in Phoenix, AZ are just  so stunning, not to mention the architecture. It is such a pretty place to enjoy the outdoors.

The lobby and all the hotel common areas went through a major renovation during the pandemic. The tile work in some of these spots was making me drool. 😉 This bar with it’s textured almost feather-like tile going up the bar is SO stunning!! You can see what this area used to look like in this post.

This new outdoor bar and seating area is a major upgrade! It’s gorgeous and is so nice to have some shade from the sun out here. It used to be a big grassy and patio area with no covering and bar. Major improvement!

A new adult pool was added to the resort as well and these cabanas are so cute!

The paradise pool also got a little (or big) upgrade since we were here last. This set of three wild waterslides is super fun and a great addition to this awesome pool!

We love The Biltmore SO much. I can’t believe it has gotten even better!!

I always love to share my favorite spots to eat! John and I grabbed lunch on Saturday at a new favorite spot just down the street from The Biltmore. It’s called The Macintosh. They had some of the best onion rings I have ever had in my life…and I LOVE onion rings!

To balance out the onion rings I had a salad. It was delicious!! Spinach, rotisserie chicken, apples, cranberries, pickled onions, pecorino, candied pecans, golden raisins…and a creamy yogurt honey mustard. Divine!

Love this hot date of mine so much! 😉

Time spent with this cutie…

and a call from my favorite missionary rounded out a beautiful weekend.

And now I feel like I’m getting away with something because I get a short week! 😉

On to more projects to get this place ship shape before Andy arrives!! Have a great week!
