Week in Review

Happy Monday! Another week has come and gone and it is really starting to feel like fall. There was even a dusting of snow on some of the mountain tops this week! Yikes! John and I took a ride up the canyon yesterday to see if we could spot any leaves turning colors. We’ve starting noticing them on the face of the mountains up high…but there really wasn’t much to see up the canyons just yet. The pretty leaves come and go so fast…if you aren’t there at just the right time you’ll miss it all, so I feel like I need to go every week until I get to see it! 🙂

The week kicked off with our fall home tour…did you catch it?

The rest of this week was pretty slow. The bug that I mentioned last week that caused us to cancel our DC trip took Andy out for a full week. He was REALLY sick and needed trips to the doctor and such, Ashley fortunately recovered quickly and was only down for a couple of days. As sad as I was to miss out on a fun trip, I would have worried about Andy the whole time I was gone, and if Ash had gotten sick while we were gone it would have really been miserable, so I consider it a blessing the way everything happened as it did.

Fortunately, the weather decided to cooperate with me having to be cooped up in the house all week, and it RAINED! Our weeks long super extra heat wave turned into glorious cool weather with days of rain and thunder and lightning storms. It was kind of magical!

Rain and fall weather can only mean one thing…it’s time to break out the pumpkin bread! 😉 I had LOTS of time to bake and cook, so I tried some new recipes and made some of my favorite old ones. You’ve got to feed a cold, right? 😉

The lightning storms were incredible!!! On Thursday night in particular it went on for hours and was right over head. Ash and I turned out all the lights and opened all the windows and watched the show and listened to the heavy rain. So fun!

I did a little online shopping while I was home on the couch and a lot of planning for the Alumni House’s future.  This rug arrived and I love it even more than I thought I would. There’s a new art piece from Target that I ordered

Ash and I got out of the house on Thursday in between storms for a little walk to get her some fresh air. I know I’ve said this a million times already, but we are LOVING being in a college town!

Everything is so walkable and there is always something fun going on.

Friday afternoon John got back from DC and we spent the rest of the weekend on long walks, watching football, and driving up the canyon.

The pups were a little exhausted after our long outing Friday afternoon. Too much excitement getting treats and seeing lots of kids that wanted to give them attention. 😉

Any chance I get to sneak away with this guy for an hour or two, I’ll take it!

It was fun and relaxing and I’m already looking forward to next weekend. Let’s do it again soon! 😉

This week is going to be a great one. I have a few fun projects I want to tackle and we’ve got football and family time on the agenda again…there’s nothing I love more!  I hope your week gets off to a great start!
