Happy Monday! John and I landed back in SLC late last night and literally came from beautiful blue skies and spring like weather in OC straight back to winter with snow on the ground and freezing rain. FUN! Take me back to the sunshine! 😉 Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to this week.
Around the House : Projects & Updates
The big project heading into April…the wedding! This is the final push this last month before Andy and Victoria tie the knot. I’ll be doing a little something for them in OC a few weeks after they get married in Utah and here are a couple of images I’m being inspired by…
Are you sensing a theme? We just want a fun dinner party to celebrate them…nothing formal, just friends and family and good food…(and maybe some live music… 😉 sometimes I can’t help myself!) I can’t wait to share more of this with you in the coming weeks!

Life & Family : This Week’s Happenings
Just after Ash’s birthday John and I hopped a flight to go spend a few days at home in OC. I needed to get some things ironed out for Andy’s wedding celebration there in May, and I can always use some sun this time of year. It goes without saying…if you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know I have had a struggle living in Utah…and in the several years we’ve been here it hasn’t really gotten any better. I can’t wait to get out of here! lol! The lack of sun and warm weather is a HUGE change for me having spent my entire life in southern CA and this time of year seems to be extra hard when it is getting to be spring everywhere else with sun and warm temps and here it can still be snowing into June. January…I get it. It’s winter. I don’t like the snow, but at least I feel like it’s winter. In March, April, May and June…it just feels like a total bummer. So yay for a few days in the sun!!
By the water…all day every day. That is how I prefer to spend my time. 😉 You know I love to walk, so getting out of the neighborhood this week and onto the sand was the perfect remedy to some lingering winter blues. Dana Point Harbor at sunrise and sunset, Balboa Island, San Clemente trail…so many pretty spots just a few minutes drive.
I’m such a sucker for murals and street art!
It was So windy yesterday the water was super choppy, even in the harbor, but the color of the water were incredible!!
Found a cute new favorite in San Juan Capistrano this week. Breezy is a delicious Portuguese inspired breakfast spot. Yummy bowls and pancakes and egg dishes. And it’s pink!
It’s right in the heart of San Juan by the mission, so if you find yourself in town, definitely give it a try!
John and I tried another new spot in town on Friday night, the Mercado Gonzalez in Costa Mesa, just down the street from the Newport Beaches.
If you are familiar with Eataly, think of it as an Eataly for all things Mexican food. SO amazing!!
We were in heaven and can’t wait to go back! Super cute food stalls, amazing groceries, mariachi bands, cute patios to eat on…too much fun!
While we were away the kids were holding down the fort and taking care of the babies…
Is it bad that I sometimes miss the puppies more than the kids? lol! 😉
