I hope you are having a wonderful start to your Monday! Spring has sprung! What a wonderful week it was with the time changing (I love to spring forward and get that extra hour of golden daylight in the evenings!), the temps showing signs of warming up, and Ashley’s birthday! woohoo! We had a busy week around here doing our best to make our “not so little anymore” girl feel extra loved on her birthday week. I got a late start today after my morning 6.5 miles and then a fun design consultation for a project…but here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to this past week! 🙂
BIRTHDAY WEEK
The birthday girl got to work on Monday starting to construct the cake she designed after hours of perusing the internet for the perfect recipe, style and design. She finally settled on a delicious white cake turned rainbow, with layers of heavenly buttercream and a green ombre exterior with sprinkles and gold coins. It was SO cute! She always amazes me with her baking abilities…especially at such a young age!
Birthday festivities on Wednesday were fun with a long morning walk, a trip for green bagels, visits from friends, and dinner at a restaurant which felt like a real treat after not eating inside a restaurant for over a year! Benihana was her meal of choice. It was super fun!
These green bagels are from a local place called Bagels and Brew. They make rainbow bagels and bagels in fun colors for all occasions. They are SO fun!
HOUSE UPDATES
Every week I feel like I make a little more progress on the many thing on the honey-do list. 😉 I found some great accessories at TJ Maxx this week and I can’t wait for them to arrive. These and these are headed on their way, as is that and . I have been posting a TON of finds over on my LTK page recently. Come check them out here!
Here’s a sneak peek of the master bathroom….we’re getting there! 🙂
BEACH TIME
Every chance we get we get out to walk along the coast. Which usually means the weekends are dedicated to all day on or by the water. Ash and a few friends did a fun murder mystery scavenger hunt on Saturday which took them all over Laguna Beach…
While the kid’s solved their crime, we headed to lunch with this gorgeous view…
Sunday late afternoon after church we got to watch one of my favorite shows…Singing in the Streets 😉 featuring my favorite missionary. Every Sunday Andy and missionaries in his area gather to sing for 30 minutes live on FB. They take requests of favorite hymns. I couldn’t love it more!
To end the day we took the boys for a walk around Balboa Island at sunset. It’s our favorite place to wander these days, and they sure seem to love it too!
Off to my next appointment! Hope you’ve had a great Monday!
