Hello! Welcome to my very first home tour of the Christmas season! I’m so excited to be joining Tana and the other talented bloggers sharing their homes all decked for Christmas today! It’s so fun to have you here. Thanks for stopping by and spending a few minutes of your day with me! 🙂 I just revamped the blog, and I am super excited to share it with you! I hope you like it and will come back often.

I am a total sucker for kids rooms…especially kid’s rooms with twin beds. When it was time to renovate the OC Ranch, I wanted to revamp Andy’s fairly small bedroom a bit. Since we would be using the house part time and having friends and family stay the rest of the time, I wanted to maximize the number of people we could sleep.
There used to be a queen bed in his room, but I decided that two twins were probably more useful this time around. That way, if kids or older teens were staying…or even two adults…they wouldn’t necessarily have to share a bed.
I found these two adorable and amazingly priced twin headboards here. They have been on sale lately for under $90. That is a TOTAL steal! I think they look pretty cute draped with this garland (my favorite feel-real faux garland!) and then I added this felted garland as well for some more whimsy and fun.
I have several drawers built into the closet in this room, and since no one is living in here long term, I decided a cute chest in between the beds was a better use of space than trying to fit a dresser. I LOVE this cute black chest. A whimsical collection of trees and a little ceramic house are fun decor pieces for this room. The black and rattan task lamps are the perfect addition to this beachy room year round. Mine have been sold out off and on…these are practically identical and perfect!
This room is all neutral. The rug, quilts, duvet covers and throws are all a white or beige/tan which works well with the greige walls and natural wood ceiling.
Because everything is so neutral I wanted there to be TONS of texture to give the space depth and interest, so the stitching on the quilts, the honeycomb texture on the duvets covers, the fringe on the gauzy throws were all chosen deliberately to really layer on the texture.
I added even more texture and a little color and pattern with this pillow (which reminded me a bit of shark teeth working with the beachy vibe of the room) and a french grain sack pillow. I loved adding little wreaths to the beds to dress them up.
At the foot of each bed I found these awesome little stools at TJ Maxx. The woven look and black legs were perfect for this room. I believe they are all sold out there, but here is a nearly identical one at Pottery Barn. The room is too small for footboards, so these are a nice way to kind of finish the end of the bed. I wrapped some gifts to stack there for Christmas, but they are also a great place for me to put towels and little gifts for guests when they stay.
It’s really amazing how some greenery and a few simple decor pieces can transform a room and make it look all ready for Christmas!

I have a few pillows listed here, so let’s talk about pillow inserts for a minute. In my opinion, the right pillow insert, can make most any pillow cover look high end. No matter how inexpensive the pillow cover, with the right insert, it’ll look WAY more high end. If your family is anything like mine, we like to actually LAY on our throw pillows, not just stare at them looking pretty on the bed or couch. That would never fly in my house. Down pillow inserts are what most people are familiar with for the ability to fluff them up and make them look nice, but there are several awesome down alternative pillow inserts that I actually like WAY better than down. Not just for allergy purposes, but because I think they are much more comfortable to lay on. I get mine on Amazon from this pillow shop. They have pretty much every size you can think of and I think you will love them as much as I do. Order an insert that is slightly bigger (2 inches is good) than your pillow cover. If you have an 18×18 cover, get a 20×20 pillow insert etc., for maximum fullness. Looking for more pretty pillows for your home? Check out this post.
