Master Bathroom Remodel Before and After

I’m at the point in our own home project that I need to see something finished and pretty, so today it’s time to share a recent bathroom renovation I had the pleasure of assisting a wonderful friend of mine complete.  These master bathroom remodel before and after pictures will knock your socks off…the transformation is incredible!  If you remember this kitchen makeover, and this family room remodel you might notice some similarities in the design of the original rooms.  Dark, Tuscan inspired design with gold walls and Espresso cabinetry.  Well, it was time to lighten things up a bit.

Yep, I’m not lying…this is the same space if you can believe it.  I just can’t get over how much fun a bathroom remodel before and after is!  What a difference, right?  Can we talk about those floors for a second?  SO gorgeous.  Here’s the scoop.  Yes, they are concrete tiles.  Yes, they require some maintenance.  They need to be re-sealed every year and they will wear.  If you’ve ever seen the beautiful floors in Europe that have been around for hundreds of years that are worn and gorgeous, that is similar to the wear these will experience…but over a long time and the lighter the traffic, the less wear.  But let’s be honest…the wear gives them character and adds to the beauty, right?  They are porous, so the seal helps protect them.   in a slightly different color palette.  As soon as I can locate the exact same tile, I will update this post, but it is nowhere to be found right now.

As you can tell in the original images, the previous tub was a spa tub with a Travertine surround that was connected to the cabinets.  That tub came out and it was replaced with this beautiful pedestal tub.  The original idea was to do ship lap behind the tub, but with massive crown moulding, and wanting to keep the original shutters and window casings, I just didn’t think it would fit.  The other pieces that my sweet friend was drawn toward were so feminine and dainty, I suggested a traditional wainscoting surround instead and drew up this design for the finish carpenter.  I think it turned out beautifully.  (I might be a little biased though) 😉  You can .

The chandelier (similar one here) and beautiful completed the look of this bathtub nook.  Who wouldn’t want to sit here and soak all night long?

I always outfit any room I design with a dose of HomeGoods accessories.  This beautiful blue urn and the wood tray for the roses were the perfect choices to bring some warmth and color to the bathroom.  Although I worked with an existing stool that the homeowner already had, you can also find tons of cute, stylish stools at HomeGoods too!

We had a new mirror custom made with beveled edges and added  (similar) in the mirror to add interest and break up the large piece.
