Middle School Free Printable Valentine’s Ideas : Put a Ring on It

I love the month of February. I just wish that Valentine’s Day celebrations could extend a little longer in the month! Once kids get out of elementary school and become older students they start to act like they are a little too cool for conversation hearts and Valentine’s Day activities, but I know from having middle schoolers, that even though they act like they are too old for it…they still secretly love it. 😉

It’s such a fun holiday I remember when I was in 7th grade and 8th grade they used to have these little paper hearts and treats that you could purchase through the student store and write a secret love letter to your crush or just send sweet messages to friends and then you could have them delivered to their middle school classroom, usually home room. It was done anonymously in front of the whole class making it so much fun!

Middle school students still want to have fun and do Valentine’s day things, I think that it’s just about finding different ways to celebrate around a Valentine’s Day theme. Finding fun activities that aren’t so much about romantic love – a cute photo booth, a random acts of kindness day …something that still celebrates love but that doesn’t involve speed dating or unrequited love. 😉

I always like to come up with free printables and Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays to make tags and cards for. It’s a great way to have a little fun and an excuse to hand out a treat.

You know that my favorite way to celebrate the day of love is with a good play on words and a cheesy valentine, right?  A little Beyonce is perfect for the middle and high school crowd. I think these fit the bill perfectly! 😉 I came up with these kind of more middle school and high school aged valentine’s for Ash to hand out at school because we thought they were funny and she wasn’t embarrassed by them because they weren’t too cutesy. And yes…I think high school students are never too old to get a fun Valentine’s Day treat too! 😉 I found the packs of 6 ring pops at Walmart for 99 cents, so the cost for a classroom full of kids isn’t too bad…about $5 for 30 valentines.

HOW TO PRINT THESE MIDDLE SCHOOL VALENTINES

I usually print my free printables on my home laser printer. I use this for all of my printables when I print them at home. It’s a 110lb white cardstock. It gives the tags a nice weight. You can choose a heavier weight paper, but make sure that your printer can handle it.

Most of my printables are a white background, but since this one is a dark pink and has a lot of other color to it, it might make sense to have it printed at a place like Staples or Office Max. I usually pay a $1.50 or less per page for full color printing on a 110lb cardstock. The reason I might do that with these is because the color would eat up a LOT of ink from your home printer. Just something to think about! 🙂

When I cut out my printables at home I like to use this paper trimmer . I have used it forever with all my crafting and scrapbooking and I love it.

I tied these valentines to the ring pop packaging with a little hole punch and just a bit of my favorite pink and white twine, but that is not a necessity. You could always just tape them on to the packaging as well.
