Trail Mix Bar DIY : Perfect for Weddings and Parties

Are you looking for a fun and different party food idea?  One of the biggest hits at the Farmer’s Market Wedding was a “make your own trail mix bar.”  Guests loved being able to create their own custom mix of trail mix.  I created custom bags with labels that matched the rest of the wedding.  A trail mix bar is such a perfect idea for your summer movie nights in lieu of a concession stand, birthday parties and more.

You can look for a trail mix recipe online to get you started with what ingredients to buy, or look at your favorite trail mix that you can purchase ( I love the trail mix Costco makes!)   Here’s what I used to give you a few ideas and get you started…

Teddy Graham Crackers

Craisins

Chocolate Chips

M&M’s

Peanuts

Cashews

Almonds

Pretzels

Raisins

Honey Nut Cheerios

Collect glass jars, tin buckets, anything fun that you can use to hold all the fun goodies, buy some fun party favor bags, and let your guests go to town.  I found these jars on Amazon  I labeled everything with custom labels, but mini chalkboards would be a fun way to identify and label ingredients for your guests too.  For a kid’s party or movie night it would be fun to incorporate more movie themed or kid themed items like gummy worms, milk duds, sour patch kids etc.
