Weekend Recap

Happy Monday my friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Monday’s are always tough, but these Monday’s leading into the holidays seem even a bit harder to me because it’s getting cold and all I want to do is lay in bed in my jammies with hot cocoa and watch Hallmark movies.  Who really wants to have to go to school or work anyways?? 😉

We kicked things off on Friday night with a Jazz game.  Admittedly basketball is not really my favorite game, give me football, hockey or baseball any day, but John’s company has some awesome seats, so that always makes anything more fun and it’s always great to see a good game. 🙂

Ash headed to a birthday party where she needed some Christmas pj’s, so we all ended up getting some. Old Navy has them for 20% off so we decided to go for it…and start wearing them too…too early? 😉 They seriously have SO many fun patterns this year.

They have cute t-shirts to go with them, and if you prefer, many of the pants come in a shorts version too.

Ash saw these adorable slippers and we both had to have a pair.  When she first saw them she said “Mom!  I have to get a pair of those slippers and be Tinkerbell for Halloween next year!” They do totally look like Tink shoes!

The kids were both busy with some fun activities on Saturday afternoon, so after raking about a bazillion leaves in the yard…and there are still tons left…the kids headed off and John and I went and grabbed lunch and shopped for awhile.  I want to eat this for every meal!

nordstrom cafe burrata

This was the biggest Burrata appetizer with grilled bread, fresh pesto, heirloom tomatoes, balsamic and micro greens I have ever seen.  It was AMAZING!!!  Local SLC peeps you can find it at the Nordstrom Cafe at City Creek.  I haven’t seen it at my local Nordstrom in OC, but each one seems to have different menus, so check your local store!  Eating and shopping make for a pretty great Saturday afternoon, especially when there are Christmas decorations up!

I’m always a fan of a mall downtown in the middle of a city.

I think these trees are so cute!

I found these Christmas ornaments at another favorite spot in SLC, Alice Lane Home.  They are mini ornaments all bunched together and hung as one.  I think these will make a fun and easy DIY!

We watched a beautiful sunset and then headed to dinner with some fun neighbors.  It was a cold night, but I most certainly didn’t expect to wake up to this on Sunday morning…

First snow

What??!!  Ok, so I know that is pretty wimpy snow, but it is snow nonetheless!! And this picture was taken at noon and it was still there.  It is COLD here right now.  Last year was my first November and it was 65 at Thanksgiving.  I was totally expecting that to be the case this year…no such luck!  It has been in the low 40s.  That’s a big change from running around in shorts and flip flops with temps in the 80s in OC last week! 😉

A Sunday drive up to Park City after church rounded out our weekend.  We snuggled up last night as a family and watched The One Hundred Foot Journey.  Have you seen it?  We love that movie and the kids had never seen it.  A fire and a movie were the perfect family Sunday night.

I have some exciting things in store this week, so have a wonderful Monday and be sure to head back here to check it all out tomorrow! 🙂

Have a great day!
