After so many months of life feeling like it was on pause, uncertainty and frankly a good bit of fear mixed in, it feels almost strange to be getting back even the slightest sense of normalcy. I am extra grateful for Marty’s home tour this year to get me back to doing something I love and sharing our family room design. Marty has been the host of this and so many fun home tours over the last several years, and always kicked things off on Monday’s. In August both Marty and her husband became ill with Covid and unfortunately, Marty’s dear husband lost his battle with this terrible disease. While she takes some much needed time to be grieve and heal, Linda, from It All Started with Paint , has graciously stepped in to host this season’s tour. Marty will be sharing her tour on Friday, so be sure to visit her beautiful home. If you are joining me from Cristina’s blog, welcome! I always look forward to seeing how she updates her home for each season. It is so beautiful!
Our family room doesn’t get much blog time around here. It’s funny, because the family room is where we spend 95% of our time…and yet, it is the last on the list to get finished. Recently I started the process of getting this room finished by adding window coverings and a built in, and now I am on a mission! I’ve included affiliate links in this post so you can shop this room and get your home ready for fall too! 🙂
We added a new member of the family a few weeks ago, Sam, the cutest little English Cream Retriever is a taking up a lot of time and energy…and might be chewing on a few things. 😉 So, once he is out of the chewing and accidents stage, the furniture, rug and accessories in here will be getting an update. I can’t wait! How cute is that little face?!
This fall I changed the pillows and a few accessories in the family room to make it feel a bit more seasonally festive in here. You might remember this family room design board that I shared a couple of weeks ago, well here it is all put together in real life! 🙂 I love seeing design boards translated to actual rooms!
A few other fall touches like this pampas grass, and some magnolia branches and pumpkins and we’re all fall ready in here!
I picked up this new picture at Target when Studio McGee released their new fall line with Threshold earlier this week. I’ve had it on my list for over a month since the release was announced and I’m so glad I was able to snag it! Everything went SO fast!! I was online at 1am when the release went live and I checked out at 1:01am and half of the stuff in my cart was already sold out! YIKES! I love it and it’s just the perfect size for that spot. That reading chair is so comfy!
You can see a peek of the new window coverings in this shot. The light coming through in this picture is a little weird, but you can see the pillow combo on the couch here. I usually have lighter colored pillows in here, but for fall I like to warm it up with richer tones. These great red pillows and some pretty mustard mixed with darker blues are great for fall. I mixed those pillows in with these new, very affordable 20×20 pillows and a lumbar.
Fresh greens in a big rustic pot are perfect for every season! I love eucalyptus! It’s inexpensive and smells wonderful along with looking beautiful!
