Happy Monday! It’s always so fun to start the week with a Christmas Home Tour!  I look forward to Marty’s amazing tours every year. Do you guys get as excited about seeing everyone’s beautiful Christmas decor ideas home tours as I do? It’s so fun to see how everyone does Christmas in their own home. So many different color palettes and styles. It’s awesome.  If you are joining me from Yvonne’s beautiful tour, welcome!  I have gotten to know so many bloggers through these tours each year, it’s always fun to get a chance to work with them every season. Are you ready for the five full days of Christmas inspiration heading your way?  Let’s kick things off with the family room at the OC Ranch Reno, shall we? 😉

The family room is connected to the kitchen and nook. It’s a great open space to gather and it’s where we always end up congregating for everything. There’s a nice sized living room at the front of the house that we always joke might as well not even be there, because we hardly ever use it. Everyone wants to be where the action is and that is always where the TV and refrigerator are. ;0

Years ago I hired a mason to add this stone to the back wall of the family room. I wanted to give this newly built little tract house the feeling of history. A sense of place and some great texture and warmth. At the time several people thought I was crazy…well, I still love it all these years later. Prior to the renovation of this house this past few months, we had dark, hand-scraped floors in this space. When we had our unfortunate leak and had to re-do things, I decided to lighten things up and go with these great wide plank, wire brushed white oak floors. I love the transformation. I added furniture with a more coastal feel since this house is just a few minutes from the beach. I love this rug in a sandy color and I found those awesome cane backed chairs at HomeGoods. For Christmas I wanted to bring in greens and some great cranberry colored accents. I kept everything else neutral and organic feeling.

I saw this pillow and had to have it. It was kind of the jumping off point for the rest of the decor. I also used these striped pillows and this berry colored pillow on the camel colored sofa.

I love these cute little stacked ceramic green trees. They are the perfect touch for the marble coffee table. I added a few other elements to the coffee table too…

Wood beads from Target, and a few vintage pieces from my favorite local shop RJ Imports round out the Christmas coffee table decor. I LOVE adding cypress sprigs and garlands wherever I get the chance to.

The chair in the corner just arrived to make it’s debut here in the Christmas home tour. I love the rattan and teak base with the loose cushions in an oatmeal fabric. It is SUPER comfy and a new favorite spot in the house. This green pillow is SO soft and cozy, it makes this chair basically irresistible. 😉 I added some cute potted trees that I found at HomeGoods on either side of the fireplace. I was so excited about the beautiful cement pots they came in! Often times I will need to put the tree in a basket or replace a pot when I find a tree like this, but these are gorgeous as-is! I trimmed each of the trees with some simple fairy lights I found here.

I fell in love with these fun marble and brass stocking holders, and I added some brass bell ornaments to the chunky knit stockings to dress them up a bit. This faux garland is one of my favorite things each holiday season, and just like with the potted trees, I added a simple strand of the fairy lights.

I love my Willow Tree Nativity in Utah. This sweet little 3-piece set from a local favorite shop reminds me so much of it. I love it on the little black table with some simple trees.

I looked high and low for a great tree that was realistic looking, pre-lit and didn’t break the bank. I wanted something that was more sparse and I found the perfect tree!! We LOVE this one. Even John walked in and said “wow, that looks like a real tree!” That is saying something because usually I can buy something new and he doesn’t even notice it for the first 6 months! 😉 So, for him to not only notice it, but also make a comment about it means it must be something special. lol!

When it came to choosing ornaments, I always love an eclectic mix, this year I went with mostly neutral and shimmery and something that looked a bit more handmade. I found great glass and beaded ornaments in varying sizes and shapes in gold, mercury glass and a coppery/bronze color. I added some wood bead garland for texture, glittery pine cones, and some amazing paper snowflakes.

These adorable little gingerbread houses were the perfect whimsical touch.

For color I wanted some cranberry colored ornaments and then I found these amazing oxidized copper ornaments that I LOVE!

I finished things off with this seagrass tree collar and topped it with this pretty gold star tree topper
