We’re finally heading into longer days of sunshine and warmer temps are soon to follow…a girl can dream, right? That must mean it’s time for a Spring Home Tour! I love teaming up with Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and being a part of her fun home tours each season. If you are stopping by the blog for the first time, welcome! It’s a pleasure to have you here. Did you stop by Brooke’s beautiful tour on your way here? I just love her warm, beautiful home. Spring home decor to me is all about designing a space that celebrates the beautiful colors popping up outside and bringing them indoors. This time of year I always get excited to re-arrange things throughout the house, clear a few things out and freshen it up. At the end of this post, you will find links to all 30 fall home tours that will be happening this week, and you definitely don’t want to miss any of them!
We began construction on this #1987FixerUpper 10 months ago, and to see just how far it has come is really incredible. (You can catch up on all of the before and after posts here to see the transformation) We are still in the process of getting settled in around here, so the kitchen is really my favorite spot because it feels finished! Woohoo! It gives me the chance to decorate it and make it feel like one space in the house is complete. I am having fun working with the blue island and decorating around it this year. I hope you enjoy our spring kitchen!
I was all about mixing metals in this kitchen. I’m not convinced that I am going to love brass forever…well, I will, but I’m more concerned about the people we may sell the house to in the future, so I wanted to use brass in places that were easy to switch out if needs be. These pendant lights and these sconces were a fun way to bring in the brass. I used these satin pulls and knobs, and the kitchen faucet and are both chrome.
This pretty light over the nook is one of my favorites in the house. It is from Restoration Hardware BABY if you can believe that! I actually prefer their baby and teen lines. I thought this gorgeous little light deserved to be out where people could see it…not tucked away in a nursery! 😉 I’m excited to share more of this nook once it has some furniture. I ordered this table and these chairs for it. The chairs just arrived and the table should be here in the next week or so…yay!
I fell in love with this Bella Statuario slab as soon as I saw it at Arizona Tile. It is quartz and I love that it’s low maintenance! We use our kitchen hard and I need things to be very user friendly.
These counter stools are a new addition. We sit at the island all day long, so I needed something right away. The price is great on these and they are super cute. I am completely OCD about protecting the wood floors…we have them in our CA house too and I insist that everything is covered so they stay in good shape. These little covers for the chair legs are my best friend. They are barely noticeable on your chairs since they are clear, and they save the floors from getting scratched to pieces. And, they are super inexpensive! (looks like I missed a crumb when I was sweeping! Real life happens here. ;))
I love this pretty tray I found the other day. The wood and brass are such a pretty combination and I love the contrast of textures on the white stone countertops. I’m also totally a fun, colorful bowl hoarder. Sometime I will have to show you inside my bowl cabinet. It looks like a rainbow exploded and it makes me so happy. This pretty flowered bowl is a new addition to the collection.
I added another pop of color to the kitchen with this great runner. Living around here I am going to need lots of rugs to keep our toes warm in the winter.

Wow–stunning! Thanks for sharing the before picture–it’s hard to believe how far your kitchen has come. I’m with you on that light fixture; it definitely needs to be on display! Great job!
Thank you so much Christy! Sometimes I can’t even believe it’s the same kitchen! 😉
I adore your kitchen! I just love the navy island and the way the rug ties in beautifully. I also liked how you changed the pattern of the subway tile over the stove. We did a similar thing on ours and it really adds extra interest. Your spring touches look beautiful and I love the tray! Thanks for the tour!
Shelley
Thank you Shelley! It is amazing how something so simple like changing the direction of that tile can make such a big impact, isn’t it? I love the border that you did around your tile. I went back and forth trying to decide what to do about that. I love the way yours turned out!
